Higher Dan Rank Class Begins Training in Nitoryu Iaijutsu…!

In our online lessons, we have a special class called the Higher Dan Rank Class — a group exclusively for students who have earned 3rd-dan or higher.

It’s still a brand-new class, and until recently, we were adjusting what kata and techniques to cover.

But during last week’s training… we finally made the decision:

We are officially adding Nitoryu Iaijutsu — dual-sword techniques — to the curriculum!

And as you can imagine… the members were super excited 😄

Being able to train more challenging and advanced techniques is truly an honor as practitioners of budo.

🎯 Negishi-Ryu Shuriken Online Promotion Exams Begin!

We’re thrilled to announce that promotion exams are now officially starting within the Negishi-Ryu Shuriken Online Lessons, which began in August 2025!

There are two kyu (level) exams — 2nd kyu and 1st kyu. Since this will be the very first promotion exam, all current online lesson members will begin by challenging the 2nd kyu exam.

🥋 How the Exams Work

All kyu exams will be conducted online, while dan (black belt) exams will take place in person during the annual Negishi-Ryu Camp — held every August.

On the final day of the camp, we plan to invite the headmaster (Soke) to oversee the official dan promotion exam: asayamaichidenryu.shop/products/neigishi-ryu-ichid…

That means —
• The first promotion exam will be held this November.
• The second one will follow in May next year.
• And about three months later, the first dan exam will take place!

So, if you join the upcoming promotion exam, you could even earn your Shodan (first dan) as early as August next year! ⚡️

Don’t worry — even if you can’t take the online exam, you’ll still have the chance to take it on-site during the camp in Japan.

Here’s what’s coming next year:

📅 August 25–27, 2026

We’ll kick off with a special training camp dedicated to Shuriken-jutsu of Negishi-ryu and Asayama Ichiden-ryu at Dozen Ryokan (the same venue we used in 2024).

Day 1: Asayama Ichiden-ryu shuriken-jutsu training

Day 2: Negishi-ryu shuriken-jutsu training

Day 3: A special demonstration and grading session led by Headmaster Tomabuchi Sensei 🙌

Since grading exams can only be done here in Japan, this is a rare and valuable opportunity you won’t want to miss!

📅 September 1–3, 2026

Next up is the Asayama Ichiden-ryu Annual Training Camp. Just like this year, we’ll focus heavily on the Kenjutsu content for the Honbu’s shodan and nidan exams.

For those enrolled in the Special Weapons Class, we’ll also include training with kama, which will be officially added soon.

Many students are expected to challenge the nidan exam, so it’s going to be an even more intense training experience. ⚔️🔥

📅 September 8–10, 2026

Finally, we’ll hold a series of one-day seminars, just like this year. In 2026, we’ll cover wakizashi, tamagusari, and the newly introduced Asayama Ichiden-ryu weapon, the great kama.

To make it easier for more people to join, we’ve reduced the ticket prices—so this is your chance to dive in! 🙏
