AUTHOR @c.m.alongi GOT MY FAN MAIL!!!!

Seriously, I love her work SO MUCH, she's on the same level of author as Tamora Pierce for me, (IYKYK) her work is THAT GOOD. Her Cafae Latte series has been FOUNDATIONAL for me as I navigated personal, professional and community challenges over the past two years and SHE GOT MY SCARF!!!!

As a weaver I work exclusively with thrifted and secondhand fibers, all with zero-waste (the scraps get used for stuffing)! This yarn was donated to me from an older LGBTQIA+ fiber artist at the time of the election, they wanted to downsize their stash, while supporting an up and coming trans artist in their community. There was a great moment in downtown Northampton, MA where a handoff of purple yarn in a farmshare cardboard box was happening behind two subarus with a woodland elf looking person walking past and nodding in approval.

So many of the characters in the Cafae Latte series have been such critical representation. The traumatized queer in JC, the autistic rep in Nicole, the Ace rep in Cyrus, the desperately trying to do her best by her own morals and her people in Bob, and SO MANY MORE. Binging the large compilation videos while weaving is one of my favorite past times.
