Took my latest YouTube pay cheque and stocked up on some new in 2025 fragrances. What do you want to see me review first!? I’ll check the results tomorrow and whatever’s ahead I’ll review!
Just out of curiosity. Does everyone prefer the Punkier approach and aesthetic like in a lot of my older videos or the more refined and classy approach I’ve been experimenting with in recent videos?
Managed to find a fragrance locally that has eluded me for quite some time and for only $39.99 AUD. Another discontinued Aramis men’s classic. I’m not outright dismissive of newer fragrances as a good fragrance is a good fragrance regardless of when it’s released, however, they just don’t hold the same appeal to me as these older men’s scents do. Perhaps it has to do with the sort of accords and notes that are popular nowadays. Too much ambroxan and syrupy sweet. Or a lot of contemporary scents have the sort of timelessness I’m looking for, unfortunately. No, I think I’ll take one of the classic oakmoss scents any day of the week.
Lagerfeld’s New York Mercer Street is the kind of clean, fresh, and inoffensive fragrance made for the men that’s not too fussed about even wearing one. Like a bouquet of flowers at the end of a hallway inside a clean and sparkling office building. It evokes no danger or mystery but it does carry a gentle gracefulness seldom found in the world of men’s perfumery. While it will never win any awards for originality, performance, or character, I think that sometimes just smelling “clean” is the ultimate in sophistication. A touch of lime at the top of the fragrance and a whisper of pepper, followed by a heart of geranium, that concludes with a soft musk and vetiver spice. Best shared with a girlfriend or wife and used to uplift than to standout in the crowd.
This is going to make some of you quite happy. The new Nike scents! Looking forward to trying these as Nike rarely disappoints. Also included photos to show you how massive the box was that the fragrances arrived in. I couldn’t help but laugh as I thought, “No wonder the planet is dying”.
I know this is going to make some of you happy. The new Nike Addiction and Nightfall scents were finally available for delivery to my location. $20 for two fragrances. Not bad at all. Here's hoping I get them in time to be considered for my Best of 2025 list!
A men’s fragrance at home in a both a high stakes corporate takeover and cruising down the Miami strip (or the Gold Coast) in a convertible. There are seldom few scents that exude such a casual cool as Sung Homme does. Pine Tree Needles, Oak Moss, Bergamot, and Fir are the dominant notes at play here and if you love scents like Drakkar Noir or Cool Water, then Sung Homme is an easy recommendation. Dress it up in a pastel suit in homage to Crockett and Tubbs, or keep it casual with chino shorts and a summery polo shirt. For under $40 AUD, this is one of the all-time greats.
Timeless masculinity for under $20 AUD. It’s one of the easiest purchases you’ll make. Aromatic, earthy, mossy, and a little soapy Quorum harks back to an era where the average man wasn’t wearing candy sweet and synthetic ambroxan bombs, but scents grounded in the natural world and of man’s experience with it. Think of a trek through the deep, dark woods with the smells of Mother Nature all around you, a cacophony that hits every one of your senses. In the middle of it all is a log cabin with a fireplace and after the journey you put up your feet, pour yourself a glass of Scotch, and recline in front of the fireplace, ready to unwind amidst the sprawl of bracken, oak, and pine. Quorum is the type of fragrance for a man unbothered by convention and at under $20, it gets an easy recommendation.
I love this country, but in complete seriousness though, this administration is a joke. It’s hard to love a country whose government is utterly intent on looking down on its citizens as though they’re all just a bunch of rabble rousing children. https://youtu.be/KD0GH_NgyUg?si=-ONJq...
