About the Journey
This is the Bates Well Ranch, located in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. In operation until the early 70's, it provides a great look into what life was like living in this environment. There are several wells in the area which provided enough ground water to sustain the operation year round. Now, all that is left are the old buildings, corrals, fences and wind pumps from days gone by. It's a really nice area to wander through.

About the Journey
These are a few pictures of a random campsite we found on BLM land. We had a great sunset and a nice Saguaro to keep us company.

About the Journey
Last August, the dogs and I spent some time visiting Yukon's Kluane Lake and Kluane National Park. This lake's main source of water, the Slims River, was diverted back in 2016 due to glacial melt and now flows to the south, leaving Kluane lake to slowly dry up.

About the Journey
We spent 4 days in the KOFA off of the KOFA Queen road and I took quite a few pictures, so I'm going to share a few more with you. I cannot overstate how cool this place is. Also, I'm still working on the next video but it should be up this weekend. I'll keep you posted!

About the Journey
One of my favorite things about camping in Arizona is the sky, particularly the sunsets and the KOFA has the best sunsets! The reds and oranges would linger for what seemed like hours, only to be replaced by a night sky filled with stars.

About the Journey
We were really happy to back in the KOFA National Wildlife Refuge for a few days. The weather was close to perfect and as always, there were fantastic views in all directions. We found a nice level campsite about half way up the Queen of KOFA road, which has a ton of camping options along it.

About the Journey
The Domelands Trailhead, which is on BLM land just outside of Anza-Borrego State Park, is a great place to camp and has some really nice canyons to explore. We were headed to Arizona, so we didn't do much hiking, but we did enjoy some warmth and sunshine and considering this was on Christmas Day, we were happy to have it!

About the Journey
This is the historic Eagle Mountain Railroad Trestle Bridge, all that is left of the rail line that used to deliver ore from the Eagle Mountain mining area east of Joshua Tree National Park. There is a lot of great camping in the area with fantastic views of the Imperial Valley and the Salton Sea.

About the Journey
This area is south of Joshua Tree National Park and has a lot of dispersed camping opportunities. We did the drive down the Red Canyon Jeep Trail, which is now part of the Chuckwalla National Monument and it was fantastic!

About the Journey
This is the Tom Kelly bottle house in Rhyolite, Nevada. It was built in 1906 using over 50,000 bottles and he paid local children .10 cents for a wheelbarrow full of bottles. This house and it's unique location has also served as a filming location in the past.
