Hello, people.
I'm Zane, Muso, Filmy, Lover Of Fun. This is where our team's work goes.
I can't wait for you to see what we can make. Sure, it's not the highest quality stuff, & most of it probably won't be award-worthy, but it's made with L.O.V.E, & that's the point of doing it, anyway, isn't it?
Anyway, to the point, we hope you find something here you enjoy.

Ah, welcome back.
Sorry it’s been a while. Had to deal with holiday stuff, plus, editing the film’s a bitch. Side note on that; if anyone has some old videos of me (home movies, random shit that was filmed for some reason, even the odd news report or two I’m in the background of), could you send them to me? Would really take a load off.
Anyway, onto our main event…
Stage Two: Manufacture
A good idea can be ruined by poor execution. Think about it; how many remakes (in any media) are better than the original? Even if no one admits it (how many people say “...but it just doesn’t beat the original”?), that can often be the case. Not always, of course. Just as often, the original execution of the idea was perfect, it should be left as it is, & people should learn to leave well enough alone (I’m sure everyone has their own specific example that comes to mind of that scenario). In other words, it just doesn’t beat the original. But, I digress.
As I’m…well, let’s not call the piss bowl “Hawaiian punch” here, poor, I’m doing this one entirely in-house, by myself, without most of the Napier Records team, even. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that none of them haven’t helped out when I’ve asked, but that’s basically just moving shit & getting places. And until I’m deep into an album or a “fancy” single, I can’t spend money on session musicians or a full-time crew.
On the upside, it does mean that I’m learning a lot more as I go along, & that I’m getting out any & all heebie-jeebies I’ve got about doing this professionally for the first time. Also, I know everything about the production, so nothing will catch me off-guard (like a mix change, an unsanctioned edit or something of the like). Mainly, it means that I know for a fact that everything meets my standard of quality, or, as us Aussies would put it, “I know all of it’ll be good enough”.
On the downside, it’s a lot of fuckin’ hard work to do everything yourself. Thank the Universe that I’m not on a 9-5 for this, or I’d probably die. Also, all of the technical & business things are really confusing (I may need to ask more intelligent powers for assistance).
But mainly, is my “good enough” good enough for everyone else? I mean, I’m basically charging people for my work now. It’s only streaming (again, poor, so I’m not selling tapes or CDs or nothing), so you’re not paying extra (I’ll assume you have at least one music streaming subscription, almost everyone does), & I only make ⅕ of a cent every time someone listens to it, but still, the concept’s the same.
But, I’m a rocker, so I’ll just put all of that out of my mind, & work (& sometimes rework, & work AGAIN, & so on…) until I get it done the way I like it. I mean, that’s how most people should approach all forms of art they create, but I’m just putting it out there.
So we’re firmly into Stage Two, & the updates are gonna come at ya thick. Not fast, of course, though. You know me. I’m pretty sure I’m DEFINITELY the tortoise, but that’s okay. There are tortoises, there are hares, there are all sorts in-between, & that’s what makes the world great.
Final side note: Note in the accompanying picture what is the last confirmed time my scalp saw the sun (might not be, but I can’t remember if my brother got head-lice either before or after this picture). Please take note as to why I no longer shave or cut my hair, 🤣.
Stay tuned for more Stage Two, coming shortly…

I'm sure you've heard that every movie is made 3 times; when it's written, when it's filmed, & when it's edited. Well, what they don't tell you is EVERY form of art, be it painting or sculpture, novel or poem, music or film, or anything & everything in between, goes through 3 stages;
1: Conceiving the idea.
2: Manufacturing the idea.
3: Refining the idea.
Each step as important as the last, having to work together across time & space, sometimes through many minds & bodies & souls, to make something "special" (as art is subjective, that's the word I'll be using).
So, after I & the team here at Napier Records have put in so much effort after so much time, we are proud to announce that my new single "All I Want Is You", written BY ME (feels weird to type), will be releasing to THE PUBLIC (sorry for the all-caps, but it still feels weird) on digital streaming platforms in the near-future.
During these final stages of production, we’ll be inviting you into the process, to actually see, & more importantly, hear, what went into making the song, from conception to manufacture to refining (this is the point of that whole spiel earlier).
We're hoping to release it in the new year, around TMCF (good free publicity), but yeah, if you know me, then you'll know what I'm like with scheduling, so don't hold me to anything.
I really am excited for you all to hear what I've been working on, & can't wait to bring you all more. Stay tuned for Stage One.
