Hello Everyone!
Last week I was lucky enough to visit the old Aldwych London Underground station. This station has been closed to passengers since 1994. Today it is used very rarely, only for occasional filming and also for tours, one of which I was lucky enough to be on!
Located within the station are 2 fully original 1907 Otis Lifts. These lifts have been untouched since they were first installed, in fact the need to modernise them and the high cost of this was a major reason that the station was closed.
Whilst the lifts sadly no longer work, they have been left in their original condition so you can see what the cab would have looked like all the way back in 1907! I was very lucky to walk through them and to get some photos!
Are people interested in seeing more photos of these lifts? If so I may do a video slide show!
