April 18th is Superman Day, the day when the first issue of Action Comics, by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster was released in 1938. Interestingly enough there is a second Superman Day, a day selected by DC Comics and Warner Brothers to celebrate Superman's 75th Anniversary, which was June 12th, the day was chosen to also coincide with the release date of 'Man of Steel'. But since 2025 the official date of Superman Day was moved to today, April 18th.
