A little update on the IKEA Billy bookcase makeover! 🖤

Thank you so much to everyone who shared your thoughts here on YouTube, and over on Instagram. I really appreciated all of your input! The vote ended up being surprisingly close, so it definitely had me going back and forth for a bit. 😂

Then, @TheRealGrimmLady said, “Why not both?” …and I thought, wait… you’re onto something. So that’s exactly what I ended up doing! 🤣

It was such a quick little project, but I really love how much character it added. It’s one of those small changes that makes a surprisingly big difference, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I love getting your opinions, and I think this ended up being my favorite solution. 🖤🦇

I need opinions! 🖤

I’m giving my IKEA Billy bookcases a budget-friendly gothic upgrade with corner appliques…

Option 1: the carved wood appliques. They’re not actually bats (I don’t think 😂), but I can’t unsee little wings and I love that they’re subtle and more antique-looking without being like BAM!BAT!

Option 2: actual bat brackets for shelves. But I had the idea to repurpose them as appliques. 😯

Which would you choose? 🦇

It feels so good to slowly make this house feel like our spooky home again. 🖤

We’ve had so many showings over the past few months that a lot of the gothic decor had to be packed away. While we’re still in the middle of selling, I finally decided life is too short to live in a blank house.

The gothic homestead is officially making a comeback. 🐦‍⬛

So, the ravens are back, and I added some new gothic wall decor that I’m absolutely obsessed with.

I can’t wait to really start decorating again and share it all with you. For now, this little corner makes my heart very happy. 🖤

I swapped out the white bookcases for the all-black ones, the ravens have returned, and my realtor gave me the green light to decorate again.

I was worried I’d have to keep the house stripped down while it was on the market, but she told me to make it feel like a home—not a vacant box.

So…the Gothic décor is officially coming back out. 🦇

Now I just have to rescue all the bins I prematurely packed away in the garage. 😅

Decorating purgatory is officially over. Can’t wait to bring you along! 🖤

Happy Fourth of July week, everyone! 🇺🇸

Just wanted to check in.

It has been pretty busy around here. Since we’re still in the house-selling phase, we’ve started downsizing—letting go of furniture we know won’t be making the move whenever that day comes, while slowly replacing it with pieces we’ll hopefully enjoy for years to come. So if this setup looks like it’s under construction… that’s because it is! 😭🤣😮‍💨

We had a showing over the weekend and have another one scheduled, so we’re staying hopeful, saying our prayers, and reminding ourselves that this whole process takes patience.

On the YouTube side, I have all the supplies ready for the 5½-foot ghost DIY inspired by those $100 versions you’ve been seeing everywhere. Now I just need a little time to film it! I can’t wait to share it with you.

This gal was ready to film an unboxing of the Cracker Barrel witch lamp tonight…and then realized I don’t own the correct light bulb for it. 🫠🤣

So the review is delayed until tomorrow while I go bulb hunting. 🔦

Kicking off Summerween the only way I know how…planning Halloween projects. 🎃🖤

I spotted these little jack-o’-lantern pails on Walmart.com for 99¢ each and couldn’t resist bringing them home.

I’ve been feeling really inspired to create more of my own Halloween decor this year instead of just buying it. My current idea is to turn these into vintage-inspired papier-mâché decorations, including:

🎃 A classic jack-o’-lantern
🐈‍⬛ A black cat
😈 A little devil
👻 A ghost… or maybe a witch (I still haven’t decided!)

We’ll see if I can pull it off! 😅
