Remember the most sustainable item is in your house already or can be thrifted. While we understand that sometimes shopping is a must, we prioritize items that are sustainable and add value to our lives.

And remember, healthy sustainability looks different for all of us and you’ve to evaluate your resources, needs, and abilities constantly to keep doing your best without burning out…and knowing the effectiveness of different actions can definitely help.

Truly sustainable fashion isn’t possible without a good, hard, and feminist look at the fashion industry. We need new designs and upcycling, we need traditional crafts, we need fair wages, we need happy artisans, we need rural development, we need circular systems, and we need women empowerment. Only then can India truly say we have a sustainable fashion system, and I’m glad to be part of the people working towards that. While I thrift more than anything else, when I do shop, I try to support artisans, and now I’m going to see if I can encourage women artisans.
Who’s with me when possible?

Hey there!
Welcome to my (our) community. This is a space for us to talk sustainable living, unhinged eco-hot takes, share our favourite books, spill some tea, and read stories.
I'm Anjali, your friendly neighborhood thrifty gal, and I can't wait to hear from you!
As the Tenth Doctor would say, Allons-y!
P.S.- The second image is my DnD character, an Indian halfling warlock. Help me name my OC?

Last week we saw how much sustainable e-commerce stores cost compared to conventional fashion. Who’s ready for the thrift store edition?
P.S.- Send in your thoughts on thrifting and let’s spill the tea together!

May is Mental Health Month and as someone who has been writing about mental health, going to therapy to heal, and talking about how the idea of all or not or perfectionism without taking our resources and responsibilities into account can cause burnout, I didn't post much this month.
Part of is I am trying to talk about other things in Sustainability while keeping this core. Another aspect, is that I have a lot on my plate and my own mental well-being needed me. Whether that's by ensuring I can do the work I love regardless of circumstances or by resting or going back to mild medication that my body can tolerate.
I've often shared my struggles and my triumphs, and this month had a lot of both. I still don't believe there is a mental well-being solution that's the same for everyone or even fits everyone. Even therapy has different approaches!
So here's a reminder to take care of yourself, whatever health may look like for you. And remember as Ketki said in my novel Siya- you are enough. You are worthy because you exist.
Let's spread kindness, starting with ourselves.

This Earth Day, let’s pledge to learn more about what we need to do to keep a liveable planet because you can’t have actions or policy without the knowledge!
Happy Earth Day!

One of the important lessons we can recall today is respect for all creatures as far as possible! And that in itself would lead to world that doesn't overshoot for we won't see nature as something to conquer but something that's a part of us and that which nurtures us.

Happy Earth Month and Austin Awareness Month!
This is a reminder that while we need to adapt to climate change and climate crisis preventive lifestyles, we also need to be kind and understand different individuals, thanks to culture; gender; responsibilities; health; and more, have varying needs which we need to respect. Sustainability needs to be accessible, and in many cases that means imperfectly eco-lives until we can innovate!
My goal this month is to get my planner- aimed to make sustainable living viable and personalised- into a 100 hands; either as a webinar or an ebook, alongside making content on ecological economics, learning sustainable living, and spending time with community. For me, I suppose, every month is Earth Month.
What eco-habits have become your norm? Or are you looking at Earth Month as a place to start?
