5:00am at Artist Point, our Van Haus lit up the lot with the Nomadic Innovations A2 awning. It’s more than just a nighttime setup; it doubles as the perfect porch light for those pre-hike hours. We kept the main lights off so Everly could keep sleeping peacefully while we got ready for the sunrise trek.

Beating the heat off-grid. We went with the Nomadic X2 Air Conditioner for our van build because it’s made for van life. It fits a standard 14" x 14" roof vent cut-out, which made upgrading from our old fan super simple, and the low-profile interior unit keeps the ceiling feeling open and clean.
If you’re planning to run A/C without hookups, make sure your power system can keep up. We’re running 600Ah of lithium batteries, 300 watts of solar, and charge off our alternator while driving.
