Hello Everyone

First of all we just want to say we really appreciate everyone's patience while we create the new version of the Munkcast.

We know that we've been a bit light on content, Probably not uploading the stuff you want to see, but we're just keeping the channel active while we're working in the background on the new format.

But to tide you over...

What we can say, is that the new show will feature and entirely original Introduction song, by the Chipettes with lead singer Brittany.

A "Cinimatic" version of the song will be used in the trailer when that is released sometime closer to release.

And we have to admit, it's pretty epic.

Thanks for Reading All!

Hey Everyone.

Season 4 of Munkcast is officially in production, I am sure you know!.

We previously mentioned a February to March release, so we want to be upfront that the plan has shifted slightly. Season 4 is now aiming for an Early April 2026 launch.

Yes, still before GTAVI, don't worry.

The reason for the change is simple. This is the first season produced using plushies full time, and rather than rushing a brand new format, we are taking the extra time to get it right from the very first episode.

While we have built episodes in advance before, this is the first time doing so with a fully plush based production. That preparation now means that once Season 4 begins, it will release weekly with consistency and no gaps. No rushed episodes. No sudden breaks mid season.

We know delays can be disappointing, and we appreciate your patience. The goal is to make sure that when Season 4 starts, it stays running every week and feels confident all the way through.

While Season 4 is being finished, we will still be active. Expect smaller audio focused uploads such as Brittany Talks and Simon’s rants. These are short character pieces to keep things moving while the main episodes are completed.

It will be worth the wait!

Thank you for sticking with us and supporting the show as it grows into this new format.

🎙 MUNKCAST PRODUCTION UPDATE: SEASON 4

We wanted to take a moment to properly update everyone on where MUNKCAST is, and where it’s going next.

Some of you already know this, but it’s important to reaffirm it clearly:
Season 3 was cancelled due to a series of technical issues that hit us in December. Those problems made it impossible to continue production to the standard we expect, so the decision was made to stop rather than push out something rushed or compromised.

Out of that setback came something genuinely exciting. For the Christmas special, we experimented with a live-action plush-based format, and the response blew us away. It was received far more positively than we expected, audiences clearly enjoyed it, and just as importantly, we loved making it. The format turned out to be creative, distinctive, and surprisingly expressive in a way we hadn’t anticipated. It let the characters breathe, gave us more freedom in staging and performance, and leaned into the charm and personality of MUNKCAST rather than fighting technical limitations.

Because of that, we’ve not only confirmed but fully committed to the plush format going forward. It isn’t a compromise. It’s a deliberate creative choice that sets the show apart and gives it a visual identity that feels uniquely ours.

With that in mind, Season 4 is now officially in production.

This season marks a full reset and a fresh start. Every episode is being written, filmed, and edited from scratch, which takes time but gives us far more control over quality and consistency.

Our current target is a mid to late February release, and ahead of that we plan to release a Season 4 trailer showcasing the new format and tone.

Between now and then, the channel won’t be going quiet. You’ll be seeing:
• YouTube Shorts
• Brittany Talks
• Simon’s Rants
• Other short-form content to keep things moving

We also strongly encourage keeping up with the monthly vlog with Producer Chris, which gives insight into filming and production without any spoilers.

The longer wait right now is intentional. Our goal is to have a strong batch of episodes completed before release, so once Season 4 begins we can finally stay ahead of schedule. When it launches, we’re aiming for a weekly release, with 15 to 20 episodes total, wrapping around May or June.

Thank you for sticking with us. This reset is about doing things properly and making sure MUNKCAST has a stable, creative future instead of constant delays.

More updates soon.

Once a month, the Director pulls the curtain back.

This vlog series is a raw, behind-the-scenes look at what actually goes into running Dimidian Studios. The creative process, the chaos, the setbacks, the late nights, and the real life happening in between. Sometimes it’s just Chris talking candidly. Sometimes the team drops in. Always unfiltered.

it began at number 67 though we later renamed it to 1, but it isn't a reboot it's a continuation

The original vlog ran for over 15 years, spanning 130+ videos across its lifetime (not all of them living on YouTube anymore), dating back to the platform’s early, lawless days. At its peak, the channel grew past 40,000 subscribers and accumulated millions of views across the platform before being wiped out by false copyright claims from bad-faith trolls. (and not Bagdasarian productions as some may believe)

These vlogs have been documenting the rebuild. Where the channel is now, where it’s going, and what it takes to keep creating after losing everything once already. They’re also deeply personal, touching on real life moments like the loss of Chris’s father, everyday joys like collecting and unboxing merchandise from beloved franchises, and the quieter, more meaningful reality of being a dad and raising his daughter alongside the work.

And here’s the practical bit.
Even just having the vlog playing in the background while you’re doing something else genuinely helps the channel. Watch time feeds the algorithm, and the algorithm feeds growth. No pressure to be glued to the screen. Your passive support still counts in a big way.

If you’re into honest creator stories, behind-the-scenes realities, and supporting an independent channel as it grows the hard way, this one matters.

Hey everyone!

Alright… deep breath. We’ve got an update and while it’s not the news we wanted to give you, we’re keeping things positive and fully transparent.

So here’s the situation:
Our main computer, the big powerhouse responsible for editing, recording, rendering, and basically holding the entire Munkcast universe together, has suffered a catastrophic power supply failure. And because this system uses a proprietary PSU, we can’t just pop down to the shop for a replacement. We’ve had to order the part online, and with Christmas deliveries being slower than a sleepy Theodore, things are unfortunately going to take a little longer than usual.

What does this mean?
Season 3 of Munkcast is officially on hold until the system is repaired.
We might make it back in time to still deliver the Christmas Special, that window’s tight, but not impossible. We’ll keep you updated as soon as the parts arrive.

In the meantime:
We may be able to share older videos or small updates using laptops and backup systems, but producing new content is currently off the table until the main machine is revived.

Trust me, nobody is more frustrated about this than we are. But we’re attacking the issue head-on, and the December vlog will cover the situation in a bit more detail.

Thank you all so much for your patience, kindness, and understanding while we sort this out.
The minute the system is back online, Munkcast roars right back with it.

– Chris

BIG MUNKCAST SEASON 3 UPDATE!

Alright, everyone, gather ‘round, we’ve got some spicy production news, and for once it’s not Alvin accidentally blowing up the set. (…that we know of.)

So! After looking at our schedule, our production queue, and the number of cups of coffee needed to animate Alvin’s mouth flapping correctly… we’ve decided to tighten up Season 3 just a little.

Season 3 will now have 10 episodes instead of 13!

Before anyone starts flinging acorns across the server, here’s the full breakdown:

. 8 main episodes

. 2 specials

. The Halloween Special (already released, and yes, it counts!)

. The upcoming Christmas Special (aka Special #2, coming in, sleigh-hot.)

This adjustment isn’t us cutting corners, this is us sharpening the corners so we don’t trip over them.
Reducing the count means we can launch straight into Season 4 production without a huge gap. A little less crunch now = a LOT more Munkcast later.

Trust me… you’re gonna want us fresh for what’s coming next.

AND ABOUT THAT POLL… (On Discord)

You all voted. You all spoke. Some of you yelled.
And the winner, by popular demand?

LIVE. ACTION. CHIPMUNKS.
(Yes. For real. )

So for Season 4, we’ll be using the live-action versions of the gang, and we’ll be using plushies as stand-ins whenever they need to be filmed in real-world shots.

Some of you spotted this teased in the vlog, and yes, you were right. Plushie Alvin is coming. Plushie Brittany is coming. Plushie Simon will probably file a complaint about lint contamination. And Theodore? He’s just happy to be here.

This is going to be a wild creative shift and honestly?
We’re excited. It’s fun, it’s bold, and it lets us bring Munkcast to life in a way we’ve never done before in a FULL season.

Thank you all for being patient, enthusiastic, chaotic, and supportive as always.
More updates soon, and get ready for the soft reboot energy of Season 4.

Munkcast is evolving. And we’re dragging the Chipmunks with us.
