Fulgur Ovid 【NIJISANJI EN】

To my dearest Comfydants,

Did I make you cry? Haha, you losers actually fell for it. You think I'd sign this off with a dramatic death? Sorry, but life isn't always that dramatic or climactic. I hope throughout my time at Nijisanji, I achieved my planned goal of making you laugh as well as cry. That honestly is all I wanted when I began my time here as I didn't expect I'd be able to achieve much else in the way of "success."


That's the thing though: success was never my goal, happiness was. Measuring my journey in happiness rather than success, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I achieved my goals and then some. I'm sorry that a variety of factors often caused me to bring unnecessary pain and sorrow into our comfy sheep pile, but even when I was at my lowest points, you were always there to support me and bring me joy. Some of you may think that I'm just talking about certain members of the community, because I always do my best to show my support to artists, musicians, cosplayers, crafters, and so many others who were brave enough to share their creations with the world, but I truly mean all of you. If you were confident to call yourself a Comfydant then I mean YOU. Yes, even if you never had the confidence to announce yourself as a Comfydant or interact with the community in a public way. If you enjoyed our time together, then you are part of the sheep pile and I am so grateful for all the time you gave to me.


I hope that I didn't chicken out and I properly expressed just how much Noctyx, the other members, and the opportunities from working at Nijisanji meant to me. When I say that Noctyx felt like a found family, I meant it, but above that the sheep pile has always been my home. I know that it may come across as cringe for me to say this, but all the memories we've shared over the last 3 years have changed not only my life, but my whole nature as a person. Noctyx saved my life when I needed it most, and Comfydants gave my life new meaning. Before I was simply a passenger on this journey, but in my next life I intend to forge my own path. You all allowed me to become your shepherd even though I was barely able to decide what I was going to do with my own day, let alone life, and I tried my best to carry that responsibility with the respect it deserves. I'll most likely still mess up, meander, and take long breaks, but my time here with all of you has made me confident to chart my next course.

I know this decision may hurt some of you, and it's okay to feel that pain. Truly, I wish for you to embrace it and feel that. The pain is proof of how much we cared for one another, and the whole reason this message is pre-recorded and scripted is because at this point I'm probably crying my eyes out and didn't want my final words to be choked out through tears. I'm also still a little bit embarrassed about crying for myself in front of other people. That's another thing that I hope I can overcome someday in another life. I'm glad I still have things to work on. I've said it a lot over these years, but I respect you all enough to know how much you can engage with the fictional side of stories and allow them to affect your real life and step back if you feel it's doing so in a negative way, just as I am able to. So don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't feel about this journey or it's end, but I do wish that you'll move forward and be the incredible community that I have cherished all this time. That doesn't mean you have to forget about me or that you have to stay in the sheep pile now that I'm gone, but just that I want you to be happy and do what makes you happiest. I hope that when you reflect on the time we spent together you will be able to look back and see it as a warm memory as I always will. I will treasure these memories forever, and they are what guide me in my next steps in life.


So yeah, no dramatic death to end the story of Archivist 404. Instead we're ending on an overly dramatic and cringe farewell, but with a wish that we might meet again in another life. I've always told you all to be cringe but free after all. I always talk about how I love angst and tragedy, but I'm also a sucker for sappy happy endings after the fact, even though those are usually just the end of a storyline and not the full story of life. Life is full of ups and downs. Without the bad, the good wouldn't feel as sweet. The only thing that we can truly hope for is that at the end of our lives we can tally up all that we've done and say "I wouldn't have changed a thing." Of course there are regrets I have, and mistakes I've made... tons in fact, but the fact that I've managed to make it to this point and become the person that I am today makes me so happy. I wouldn't have changed a thing, because if I did, then I wouldn't be saying this all to you now in the way that I am. Also, I'm truly blessed to have this opportunity to end this journey in the best way that I can and tell you all of these feelings from the bottom of my heart. So many people never get that opportunity, and I didn't want to waste it, so thank you for letting me say all of this, and for joining me on these final few months as I tried to wrap up everything as neatly as I could and cross a few wonderful goals off of my bucket list!


I'm meandering already. Even in my final goodbye, I can't stop yapping and asking for 10 more minutes to keep sharing more of myself with you. This isn't actually a final goodbye in any negative sense though. The archivist is finally stepping out of the hospital room and into the world to do his best to continue his story and I hope that you all will too. This is the end of the book, but I will be writing a new one in time. I'm filled with too much inspiration to let it end here and a large part of that is thanks to you. Whether you pick up the next book or not is up to you, but truly, from the bottom of my heart: thank you for reading me and I hope you enjoyed every chapter. This isn't a sayonara, but this time it also isn't an ittekimasu.


Legatus' final goodbye was to Noctyx and he got welcomed home by Ovidia. My final goodbye is once again not to you, my Comfydants. Sorry, but at least this whole letter is for you guys! I will be honest and say that I don't really see this one as a goodbye. To me it's something slightly different. So my final goodbye here and now is to Fulgur Ovid, along with a thank you to him for a wonderful three years. As I set off on my journey that isn't quite a final farewell, but isn't a see you next time either, I hope that I'll have someone to welcome me on the other side too. So, instead of a goodbye I'll leave you all with a slight twist on my usual sign out.


Never be led astray, my Comfydants, and I hope you'll catch me again next time, in this or any other life <3.

On Monday morning I'll try out my new setup and see how it works for streaming in bed while we read superchats from the announcement stream.
Then in the evening we're heading over to Kaelix's channel for the Epic: The Musical watch along. I thought it might be nice to do it on the musical fan who hasn't seen it yet's channel. Plus it gives me an excuse to snoop around Kaekae's room.


On Tuesday me and Ukiki will be returning to the many worlds of Split Fiction in an attempt to finish the game. If we can't do it in time then there's always one more week. Let's see if PsyBorg really can make it out together in this universe.


Wednesday, I sleep (this is lies. I'll be doing a thousand things.)



On Thursday in the morning I thought it would be nice to play Infinity Nikki and continue the main story so we can beat that adorable little girl in a styling battle and destroy her dreams.
Then in the evening I've kidnapped Noctyx to take them back to the abyss to see if we've leveled up enough to get ourselves unstuck. We will be using checkpoints. We've earned that xP.


On Friday, I will be on Ewiwi's channel with the monster frickers: Piochan and Scarles. We might also have one additional monster fricker, but maybe not so I'll shut my mouth.


Finally on Saturday I'm returning to the vastness of space to try and solve the mystery of The Stranger in the Echoes of the Eye DLC. We've just gained access to the dream world, so now it's time to start exploring it's mysteries.

Pretty packed week, all things considered.

On Monday, we're returning to Outer Wilds to explore the Echoes of the Eye DLC and see how scary and existential it becomes.

On Tuesday, we're back with Pixie playing more Portal 2 and hopefully going to finish it.

On Wednesday, we have a PACKED lobby of Among Us with so many Niji EN members that we're going to have to rotate people every now and then so that everyone can join. Joining us will be:
Finana, Elira, Rosemi, Reimu, Vox, Luca, Aia, Doppio, Claude, Wilson, Vanta, Ryoma, Seible, Kaelin, Freo and Zeal.

On Thursday in the late night, we're joining Zeal at an open totsu to celebrate the release of his EP. Just going to chill and chat with everyone for a bit, then head to sleep.

On Friday, it's finally coming to an end after three years! We'll be doing the final readthrough for Legatus 505. How will the story end? Tune in to find out.

Then, finally, on Saturday we'll just be chatting and talking about everything that we haven't had time for over the last few weeks while so much has been going on as well as discussing plans for the future. There's a lot to talk about, so although the stream won't be long, please tune in if you can.

On Sunday, I shall sleep and recover for next week's streams! Already have some fun collabs planned, including the Epic: The Musical watchalong!

Fulgur Ovid 【NIJISANJI EN】

I've said my goodbyes now, and everything is kind of sinking in. I'm not going to be saying goodnight to anyone this evening or making anyone breakfast tomorrow morning. Feels kind of sad.

It's funny because I haven't really dealt with this kind of feeling in my adult life. I've never really had anyone close enough to come visit me in the middle of nowhere, so I haven't had to say goodbye. I used to like that feeling because I hate this one when it comes to an end.

I see it as growth that I was able to put myself out there again. So even though I'm kind of hollow inside right now, that's only because it was so nice to have them with me for a few days. It feels hollow because I just lost something that made me feel more complete. I wouldn't have been able to do that 6 months ago, let alone 3 years ago. Noctyx, Noctornals, and the Comfydants have truly changed me as a person, and I'm so happy about that. I like who I'm becoming, even if the journey is far from over.

Beyond that, I'm so thankful to Noctyx for traveling so far just to spend time with me. Not only would I have not wanted it for a long time, but I also would have thought I didn't deserve it. Now I just hope they know how much it means to me. I'd do anything for them in return <3.

The amazing time we shared and the memories we made are going to be with me forever. I'm glad that we were able to share a small part of that with all the Nocturnals as well and thank you to everyone for putting up with me not knowing how to set noise gates for a full room or work out a dual microphone set up to save my life, lmao. Hopefully, if I ever get the chance again, I'll be much better at it and know what to expect. Next time, I'll want to try some new stuff too, and I'll probably fail at that as well, lmao. That's part of life. We never stop growing and learning, and it always goes on. When it finally doesn't, well, we don't have to worry about that part. We can only enjoy the time that we have while we have it.

With that said, I do feel kind of sad right now. I'll be streaming in my regular way with Merry tomorrow with a POV so we'll chat a little after it, and next week I have a few collabs to do early in the week and the final Legatus 505 stream on Friday so I probably won't have a full devoted zatsudan stream until the end of the week, but I also want to play something chill where we can chat and have a post-game zatsu to decompress on Monday. Maybe we'll start Outer Wilds: Echo of the Eye DLC or just return to Infinity Nikki. Let me know what sounds more comfy to you.

If you're also currently feeling a bit lethargic or melancholy from everything that's just come to an end, know that it's completely understandable. We weren't built to be going through so much intense emotion, and after that a crash is natural. I'm going to spend the rest of the day writing and curled up as a Fuurito in bed, and whatever you have to do to acclimate back to regular stuff, do it.

Also, as always, if you need to step away from the internet for a bit to focus on the world offline, know that that's totally understandable as well. It was a lot over the last few days, so just take care of yourselves and know that I'll catch you next time, whenever that happens to be.

We ended with a group hug and then some individual hugs, and while I had tears in my eyes, I still smiled the whole time. That's what I feel right now. Sad that it's over, but overjoyed that it even happened. Sweet dreams, everybaaa, and thank you for reading me <3.

The Nintendo game night will be streamed on both me and Renren's channels. We'll have an open totsumachi that anyone in Nijisanji EN can join. The first hour will be Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then an hour of Mario Party Jamboree, and finally an hour of Smash Ultimate to wrap it up!
For each game, we'll let whoever wants to join hop on and anyone can join and just chat. We'll cycle through players as we go if there's more that want to play than the game can take so everyone gets a chance!
