I love eating out at restaurants but teaching myself how to cook in my 20s is one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Unhinged things people do when they don’t know how to cook easy meals:
- Boil pasta without salt and wonder why it tastes like nothing
- Microwave frozen veggies and call it gourmet
- Order takeout 3-5x a week
- Use ketchup as a sauce for everything
- Confuse spices and sugar (did that once - used salt in a dessert and it was gross !)
- Overcook everything because “it’ll be fine”
- Stack every leftover into one giant casserole and hope for the best
- Forget to season anything and act surprised it’s bland
- Burn water
