The main benefit of these is the SEO benefit.

Google and LLMs need multiple, consistent signals that your product is real and trustworthy, and directory citations are one of the easiest early ways to send those signals.

I put getting these early citations up there with adding Google Analytics, IndexNow and GSC to your site!

You don’t need all 600+.

Curate 20–50 high‑quality, relevant directories for your niche, and when you submit, actually fill in every single field they give you….

Description, tags, categories, social links, logo, screenshots, everything!

Make this part of your launch foundation and promotion checklist, because most founders/buiilders will never take the time to do even this much.

Last week, I spoke on the panel at Elevate MK for Milton Keynes Tech Week. The focus was on AI, the future of work and how to thrive in an AI-centric world.

It was just as powerful to hear how AI is already reshaping the industries of my fellow panellists and how people inside those industries are being impacted.

I often describe AI as the Wild West as while it presents a lot of opportunity we’ve never seen before, it also means entire industries and companies will vanish over the next few years for failure to adapt.

But companies are made up of people.

So I am glad these topics are being discussed in tandem, about the shift and the people experiencing the shift.

Through talking to the guests I gather that people are more excited than fearful which is awesome… it’s sink or swim.
