John 14:25–31 – Peace in a World of Trouble

Jesus didn’t promise His disciples an easier world—He promised a greater peace. A peace the world can’t manufacture, manipulate, or maintain. A peace rooted not in circumstance, but in relationship.

“The ruler of this world is coming,” Jesus says, “but he has no claim on Me.”

Elisabeth Elliot captured it well: “The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances.”

This is the peace of John 14—not circumstantial relief, but spiritual stability. A settled assurance that God is near, God is sovereign, and God is enough.

Then Jesus says, “Rise, let us go from here.” Peace received… becomes peace lived.

Discipleship Reflection:
True disciples don’t wait for peaceful conditions—they walk in the peace Christ already gave. The Spirit reminds us of Jesus’ words, steadies our hearts, and empowers our steps. Today, rise and go with Him—carrying a peace the world didn’t give and can’t take away.
