My day was going perfectly fine and then an online friend of mine from Finland told me something that really made me angry. Basically there's a member of the Discord server that I'm in which is centered around Dungeons & Dragons who lives in Sweden I think and another member of the server who lives in Israel who is an online friend of mine and he doesn't want to talk to her due to her being from Israel and he gets really uncomfortable when she's around because of the recent conflict that's been happening in Israel since last year and also what's crazy is that he literally left the voice chat of the server when she joined. And I'm not going to lie that actually pissed me off completely. Like how are you going to not talk to somebody because of their race and ethnicity and the country they live in. I'm not trying to make this political but that just really got under my skin.

I've been thinking about something recently and it's made me realize something. No matter how hard we try to be consistent with making videos on YouTube and making edits whether they are PJO related or just videos about things that interests us or are about stuff that were passionate about. Sometimes trying to consistently make videos just to please either the YouTube algorithm or just your subscribers can be extremely taxing and mentally draining to the point where it can lead to burnout or what does a complete lack or loss of motivation and also completely forgetting to acknowledge that there are other things that are more important than YouTube like having a life and maintaining real life relationships. Like I get it, sometimes we try to make videos consistently to either get high views or just keep our subscribers engaged in our channels or worrying that a video / edit that you spent 4 to 5 hours working on only gets a few views or none at all can be demotivating and soul crushing. Like imagine making an edit that you're really passionate about only for it and spent multiple hours working on it and then you upload it only for it to only make like three or four views and get not that many likes. That can really be incredibly demotivating, my advice to those who are feeling this way would be this: only edit when you feel like it and don't pressure yourself or hold yourself up to a high standard because you feel like, if you don't consistently make videos. Your subscribers will unsubscribe and you'll lose a lot of followers. Also don't let what the YouTube algorithm does get to you because the sad thing is it only pushes what I like to call High Speed junk over Quality gems and don't let the pressure of making videos also get in the way of having a life and doing other things that are important and meaningful. That's why I've been off of YouTube for so long because I realized that I was letting the pressure of being consistent get to me and it's a good thing that I went on break for close to several months now and don't forget that sometimes it's best to just stay off YouTube and focus on yourself and doing other things that are more important and beneficial. Basically that's my advice to those who are struggling and I hope this helps you somehow

I'm sad to inform everyone that the Dragon Ball mangaka Akira Toriyama has sadly passed away on March 1st, 2024 at the age of 68. Rest in Peace to the goat that shaped the shonen genre and influenced the manga industry and also the landscape of pop culture in both the East and the West. So from the bottom of my heart thank you Toriyama-sensei for the memories you gave to me and every other Dragon Ball fan and for how much you influenced Eastern and Western media as a whole. Sayonara and farewell
