You’ve probably heard us talk about Study Hall, the Crash Course and ASU collaboration where you can take real college courses for just $25. That alone is amazing, but what we really love is how Study Hall rethinks what a college course can look like.
Instead of long lectures or dense textbooks, you’re learning through Crash Course style videos that are engaging, whimsical, and genuinely fun to watch. The team does an incredible job turning traditional lessons into 10-12 minute videos with a clear hook, body, and conclusion that help the knowledge stick.
You can preview these videos for free on the Study Hall channel, join one of the online courses powered by ASU for $25, and only pay for the college credit if you’re happy with your final grade. It’s a low-investment, risk-free way to earn transferable credits.
The final courses of 2025 start October 15th, including Modern World History! Learn more at link.gostudyhall.com/vb
Greetings from just outside Stonehenge (which inspired tremendous awe in me; humans have been doing weird cool stuff for a VERY LONG TIME). This week, my family is traveling through England on my kids' fall break, and there won't be a vlogbrothers video today. Thanks for encouraging me to wall off family time! Also, thanks to the many nerdfighters at AFC Wimbledon's most recent game who said hello, and special thanks to the drunk people who shouted, "HANK GREEN!" at me in Mayfair on Saturday night. -John
I just finished writing all of the dad jokes for the Pizzamas app! If you download it, you'll get a notification with a different absolutely terrible Pizza Joke every day of Pizzamas. And this is like the fourth year I've been doing it so I'm really scraping the bottom of the oven...but sometimes that's where the best stuff is!?!?! Just search for "Pizzamas" on the App or Play store!
Hello! If you watched my most recent video about caffeine (as well as the little ad at the end) I have a quick survey that I would love love love for you to fill out!!
Hello! Here is a picture of Potato making Very Human Eye Contact with you. I offer this photo up as an apology for not making a video today. I've been ill, and also in something of a pitched battle with my own thoughts, so I'm taking a week off to rest and recover (and travel--I'll be in Kansas tonight and Washington D.C. later this week). Hope to see some of y'all there, and I'll be back next week. -John
This new matching fund would match donations that come in through coffee and tea sales for comprehensive tuberculosis care in impoverished communities.
We are very excited about the possibility here--it'd be great to double the impact of people who get coffee and tea from good.store/--but we also don't want to undercut or cannibalize our first and primary commitment, which is the long-term and open-ended support of a stronger healthcare system in Sierra Leone's Kono District.
Do y'all have thoughts on this? And can you upvote your favorite thoughts in comments?
2. No video from me this week. Sorry about that; I just got overwhelmed with email and other commitments. I'll be back next week!
NO VIDEO TODAY. I'm really sorry, but 1. I am very tired (and traveling nonstop), and 2. this video I'm making about my trip to Peru has proven harder to make than I had hoped, so I'm going to take the week off and have a long nap before traveling up to Michigan tomorrow. Thanks for understanding. I may miss a couple more videos in the coming weeks as the travel schedule gets a smidge challenging, but things will be back to normal before the end of this year. Otherwise I will collapse in a shimmering ball of hyperdense plasma, and nobody wants that. Here's a picture of potato.
Some big news: For the last year, @rosianna and I have been working with an amazing team to produce a documentary series. It follows the players, staff, and fans at AFC Wimbledon as they fight for fan-owned football and promotion. It's a special one, and you can watch it FOR FREE HERE ON YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrRIm...

Question for the community (and an apology):
1. Some folks have reached out to us in the last few months about a potential new matching fund.
(We already have a matching fund for those who want to help match donations to our maternal care project in Sierra Leone: www.pih.org/maternal-center-excellence?form=match-…)
This new matching fund would match donations that come in through coffee and tea sales for comprehensive tuberculosis care in impoverished communities.
