I learned that a former classmate died by suicide last night. I am still trying to process it.

I was on a panel at the same time, speaking on negativity toward creators that does not align with my morals. Criticism can be valid and constructive, but crossing into outright hate toward someone is never acceptable.

This is a reminder that words do not exist in a vacuum. When someone has disclosed mental health challenges, disabilities, or medical treatments related to those conditions, choosing to pick at them, mock them, or dehumanize them is not commentary. It is harm.

I also want to clarify something that has been mischaracterized. “Magnetized” refers to a mental health treatment (MeRT) I received. It is not a personality trait, a behavior, or something to weaponize. Medical care is not a punchline, and disclosure should never be an invitation for ridicule.

I am holding space for grief, for reflection, and for doing better.

I can only control my words and actions.
