Hi! My name is Janiel, creator of Culture Trekking. I am a story collector, Physician Assistant, dog mom to 🐶 Zoey 🐶 Finn, and have a passion for purposeful travel. I focus on travel centered around cultural connections, sustainable adventures, Scuba Diving, delicious food with farm to table experiences, unique hotels and indigenous tourism.
It doesn’t matter if you are big, tall, round or small - this community is for all! I know life can be tough sometimes (more than most) but I also know the beautiful connections that can come when traveling with other humans. So I hope that I can inspire you on the inside to better explore the outside and provide fantastic information so you can recreate these adventures for your own.

While most travelers pass through, I decided to explore a bit of the town and ended up learning SO MUCH about the people, the maritime history, the first tribes here, and saw the Punta Arenas Cemetery that CNN called one of the most beautiful in the world.

The beautiful alkaline Lake Manyara is located in Tanzania and is considered the 7th largest lake in the country. Known for the diversity of ecosystems with many birds, the unique tree climbing lions, elephants, monkeys - and WAY less crowded than the nearby national parks like Ngorogoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and the Serengeti. This Tanzania safari is solo traveler friendly and a perfect place for a budget-friendly Safari.

If you could make the quaint French town where Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, appears in real life - Strasbourg France would be the closest thing to that. Homes built with half-timbered facades, and steeply pitched roofs reminded me of gingerbread houses in a way. The romantic feeling of walking the Ill River is just as enchanting in winter with the Christmas lights as in the summer when flowers and trees are in full bloom. The quiet lull of the water rushing around the former mill homes, and the locks lazily opening for the famous Strasbourg boat tours - it is hard to not feel relaxed and enthralled by the place.
