Now that Rumble is out, the Sonic Silence before the Sonic Storm begins! When the news cycle for the next major game begins, I am returning! This time, using recent media examples to make my points clearer as to where Sonic can grow and develop.
New Film I've enjoyed: Weapons, One Battle After Another, I Saw The TV Glow, Good Fortune, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood
Sonic is a mix of western and eastern influence. However, it's a LOT harder to find western media that is as 'Emotive' as eastern media tends to be.
Saying Sonic is a mix of East and West is far too vague, which is why JP purists sort of dominate the narrative discussion. Sonic is an emotional series, and a ton of western media belittles emotion, especially western animation, but not all of it.
The West more commonly explores emotion in film.
Learning how emotional narratives are told in the East and West I believe is the bridge we are looking for in discussion.
Here's the 'Emotional story through-line' that I see.
Sonic 1: Animal saving Animals trapped in machines, Nature vs Greed Sonic 2: Tails bullied for strange trait with low confidence, trait becomes power Sonic 3: Knuckles has his trust broken and learns to trust again SA1: Tikal and Chao's arch continues this emotional core SA2: Shadow and Maria's arch continues this emotional core
Heroes: loses it a little, Team Dark sort of carries it with Shadow's memory loss ShTH: Picks it up

Unleashed: ngl I know ppl love this game, but I think the sillier Sonic stuff started here. Still explores emotion, but there's no major emotional journey or change.
You can only analyze, study and teach media so long before there becomes an imbalance. My words obviously will start to become meaningless if I don't actually produce my own media.
I've worked hard to build a career teaching media production, using and practicing skills I value, but right now, I support other creators, more than being a creator myself.
I want to grow, and evolve media discussion, and I can't do that if I only follow someone else's media property. It's time to rebalance everything, diving even deeper into art.
That's why @EdiblePotatoes and I are days away from releasing our first prototype of our fully original, 28 page comic book series, combining everything we've done or discussed online. As a promise to continue what we've built with all of you over the years.
Comedic and chaotic character moments, Art theory and commentary, vibrant vaporwave coloring, Intense cinematic storytelling, imaginative dreamscapes, and zany voice acting.
I'd like this to ADD to the Sonic discussion videos here. There's no better way to make someone understand someone's POV in media, than just SHOWING it.
I don't want to ONLY deliver feedback to a media property, I want to build, grow and learn as well.
Also, not every piece of Sonic media is... artful. Right now, Crossworlds, and Rumble take the spotlight, which are fun but more a product to grow the community, than art to be dissected.
We only get better at understanding media if we take that risk, and try to practice what we preach.

Lourdes and I got our audio fixed up so the sound quality should be back to where we were at Tails’Channel all those years back when Lourdes used to be apart of it!
Okay! So, I figured out more things out with Tails' Channel and have a clearer idea of how this channel and that one can work together.
The live recordings of the 5 minute discussions will be part of a "Sonic Hot Take Hunt" on Tails' Channel Live, every week, SATURDAYS 2PM EST. That way, the audience and Dakiii can be part of helping me find topics, and I feel A LOT more comfortable doing long form discussions there, since that's where I originally did that type of content.

I'll pull the 5-7 minute clips of me talking with the timer, and post that here, but now there'll be a longer form version to link to for those who have been missing the longer discussions!
That opens up this channel to more playful/experimental stuff that doesn't exactly fit Tails' Channel. Perfect Redesigns, Parody Dubs, Non-Sonic gaming, General Voice acting and any art based streams! Even when I was only on Tails' Channel, we would always toss around the idea of a "Tails Channel After Dark", a more adult and mature target with a similar feel. This channel will also act as that!
I know I have given a lot of updates like this, but It really feels like every single thing getting in my way is sorted out now..

I've been preparing... Watching a lot of newer media, refreshing my media knowledge and experience for the upcoming big sequel to Sonic Frontiers.
It's very important to know what else is fresh on audiences minds, to find more common connection as discourse gets exaggerated by social media.
This means researching Eastern AND Western media.
I look forward to returning when the news cycle returns it's focus to a uniquely "Sonic" experience.
I don't have much to add to a conversation about party games built to expand the brand's reach. (Rumble, Crossworlds, Blitz)
