Taking a close look at these 30yr old, yet BRAND NEW component speakers from KICKER. The Resolution components were their high-end SQ mids and tweeters of the mid to late 90s. The Resolution RS6.2 is a matched component system with the following specs:
- 6.5" Midbass/Midrange with 100W Power Handling (R6)
- Polymineral Cone with Butyl Rubber Surround
- 1" Silk Soft Dome Tweeter with Ferrofluid Cooling with up to 150W Power Handling (ND25a)
- Matched Crossover/Compensation Network with 18dB/12dB Crossover Slopes
- Original MSRP in 1995 $449/set
I also show the R4, the 4" Resolution midrange. These are also new in box and you can probably smell the minty-ness from the video. What an amazing 3-way setup this would make!
- 4" Midrange with 70W Power Handling (R4)
- Original MSRP $109/pr
These were donated to me a few years ago by Joe and very much appreciated. I've debated using them but it's just so difficult to think about marring that original finish. These truly belong in a museum!

Recently browsing Crutchfield and Amazon, I noticed there were two phenomenons.... Name brand stereo receivers were around $200 as the cheapest models but there were a ton of mini sized stereo receivers with prices as low as $30. Well you know I had to get one, make that two different models to check out.
The Daakro AK45 is the first version I check out. It has almost all the bells and whistles including:
- Bluetooth / Aux / SD / USB / Mic Inputs
- Wireless Remote Control
- Two Speaker Outputs (stereo amplifier)
- Digital FM Tuner
- AC or DC operation
- $30-40 on Amazon - amzn.to/4lS3sJV
After trying out the AK45, I noticed there is an AK55 version with these differences:
- Optical and Coaxial Digital Inputs
- RCA Pre-Amp Outputs
- Echo and Time Delay on Mic Inputs
- TPA3116D2 Amplifier IC
- $40-45 on Amazon - amzn.to/4oZPUPv
Although these mini receivers have ratings like "300x2" or "500W", we all know this isn't true. In this video I'll go over the specs and features, hook them up to speakers to demo the sound, find out the true power output and much more.

My apologies for the background music being too loud in the latest video of my 85 year old fathers first car radio video. I've uploaded a music free version on @wal2 and you can see it here. Also, I'd love to hear about your first car audio system, please leave a comment below or on the video
