Today marks the release of Renascent, the brand new album from The Durutti Column.
46 years since their inception, and 16 after their last album, this is an album many thought would never arrive.
Complementing the trademark collaborations of Vini Reilly, Bruce Mitchell and Keir Stewart, the band have teamed up with the wonderful talents of Caoilfhionn Rose and Lucas Elliott on this record.

🇺🇸 We are planning two exclusive listening sessions honouring The Durutti Column in some of the best Hi-Fi listening spaces in New York and Los Angeles, in partnership with In Sheeps Clothing hi-fi.
Hosted at Head Hi and In Sheeps Clothing hi-fi HQ on August 13th, experience the new album ‘Renascent’ along with quintessential classics ‘The Return of The Durutti Column’ (1980) and ‘Vini Reilly’ (1989), all on vinyl in a Hi-Fi setting.
Participants will receive exclusively ‘An introduction to The Durutti Column’, a 10-track Durutti Column CD sampler spanning the band’s career (limited quantity per event) and have a chance to buy a unique tote bag – both items were made specifically for these listening events and not be available anywhere else. ‘Renascent’ will also be available for purchase at both locations.

Built as ever around the guitar work of Vini Reilly, ‘Renascent’ marks the long-awaited return of The Durutti Column with their first studio album in more than a decade. The trio of Vini Reilly, Bruce Mitchell and Keir Stewart are joined by guest vocalists Caoilfhionn Rose and Lucas Elliot.
This is an album assembled over several years in an organic fashion. Recording sessions often took place informally, sometimes in Reilly’s own kitchen, with minimal equipment and an emphasis on immediacy.
The first track ‘Liars’ is available to stream now.
Renascent is released on Friday July 31st on a range of formats from standard vinyl and boxset LPs, to CDs and cassettes. Order your copy now.

This special reissue has been remastered from the original tapes for the first time since 1980, and feature new liner notes by The Durutti Column author James Nice. The 1LP format was cut at half speed, and the 2CD edition is made from original Factory Records materials from the famous cassette series.
