ग्लोबल पासपोर्ट इंडेक्स (GPI) 2026 की ताज़ा रैंकिंग में भारतीय पासपोर्ट 197 देशों में 125वें स्थान पर रहा है। रेजिडेंसी और नागरिकता सलाहकार फर्म Global Citizen Solutions द्वारा जारी इस रिपोर्ट में भारत पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में एक पायदान नीचे खिसक गया है।
रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत 2021 में 127वें स्थान पर था, 2025 में 124वें स्थान तक पहुंचा, जबकि 2026 में 125वें स्थान पर आ गया। यानी पिछले पांच वर्षों में भारतीय पासपोर्ट की रैंकिंग में कुल मिलाकर केवल दो स्थानों का सुधार हुआ है।
यह रैंकिंग अन्य पासपोर्ट सूचकांकों से अलग है क्योंकि इसमें केवल वीज़ा-फ्री यात्रा ही नहीं, बल्कि वैश्विक गतिशीलता (Global Mobility), निवेश के अवसर (Investment Opportunity) और जीवन की गुणवत्ता (Quality of Life) जैसे कई मानकों के आधार पर पासपोर्ट की समग्र ताकत का आकलन किया जाता है।

he United States has temporarily suspended key sanctions on Iran’s oil and gas sector for 60 days as part of ongoing peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran. The decision allows Iran to legally produce, sell, transport, and export crude oil, petroleum products, and related energy commodities until August 21, 2026.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the temporary waiver also permits related banking, insurance, shipping, and transportation services, making it easier for global buyers to conduct business with Iran during the negotiation period. Transactions in U.S. dollars are also allowed under the license.
The move comes after recent diplomatic progress between the U.S. and Iran. Tehran has reportedly agreed to allow international nuclear inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to return and monitor its nuclear facilities. Iran has also committed to ensuring free navigation through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
