I quit my job to pursue Freedom 🌈
Hi, I`m Katja, and I just quit my fancy job in media publishing to experiment with alternative lifestyles and build an artistic sanctuary in remote Bulgaria.
It all came after a severe burnout and years of depression & anxiety caused by a never-ending grind and going after goals that could never fulfill me.
I tried to live in the system, I did the 9-5 thing and the (digital) nomad life, but I finally realised what I really crave is a slow life connected with nature. So that's what I'm after now - a more sustainable life with less focus on the material and more on the overall wellbeing.
On this channel, I want to inspire you to be your most authentic self and go after what your heart really desires, no matter how unconventional it is to the rest of the world!

I drove into a small Bulgarian village to see one specific house I found online… and everything went sideways.
After asking around in a bar, a shop, and even the mayor’s office, word spread fast. Suddenly everyone wanted to show me their house. I ended up seeing hidden, unlisted homes you’d never find online.
No perfect match, but one of my most successful house-hunting days yet.
Sometimes the real secret is stopping the scroll and talking to people.

I just uploaded a new video, and it’s basically a Sunday exhale wrapped in a countryside drive.
I took an unplanned house-hunting loop through rural Bulgaria, wandering between Koevtsi, Gorsko Kosovo, and Gorsko Kalugerovo in the Gabrovo region, tucked in the foothills of the Balkan Mountains. I went looking for one house and instead found abandoned stories, quiet villages, soft hills, deep forests, and those long, open views that make you forget your phone exists.
No rush, no big decisions. Just a slow day of imagining what life out here could feel like.

House hunting in rural Bulgaria never goes as planned… and this episode proves it.
I headed into Varbitsa with one clear mission: find a house I saw online.
Instead, I somehow ended up in the mayor’s office… and then in a stranger’s car being shown secret, off-market properties that don’t exist anywhere on the internet.
From there, I drove to Blagoevo, where online listings took me to the edge of town, two unexpectedly charming houses, and one unforgettable encounter with a local baba who told me she’d love to have me as her neighbour. 🥹
And finally: Gorski Dolen Trembesh. High on a hill, incredible views, misleading online photos… and a sunset that made everything worth it.
This episode is about trusting strangers, chasing dead-end listings, getting disappointed, getting surprised, and falling in love with Bulgaria all over again.
