I don't know how interesting this will be, but here's a look behind the scenes at why I use the daily guns.
YouTube set my "which Incredibles power would be the best IRL?" video to "Made for Kids", which for those of you who haven't been around for this saga, means the comments were removed and the views instantly died. I tried appealing it, and the appeal was rejected. So I moved on to the arbitrary next step: call them out on Twitter.
In the past, they'd usually fix it pretty quickly. This one took 3 WEEKS to get through their systems, and they ultimately rejected my appeal. It's still "Made for Kids" and now it's always going to be.
You can't ask why it got rejected, you can't ask why the OTHER videos WEREN'T rejected... they just always show you the terms. Which, feel free to read if you'd like, there's literally nothing specific in there. It's so full of grey area that YouTube can do whatever they'd like and you just have to accept it.
You may notice there's no video today. And I'm sorry for that... but I promise, I have reasons ;)
1. The Incredibles video I recently posted blew up, but at its height YouTube turned it into a "Made for Kids' video. You can see in the picture below, this basically halved my views for the day. I submitted an appeal, but it'll probably take over a week to fix, and by then its time will have passed. People keep suggesting I start cursing, but I'm not gonna do that; there's gotta be another way to fix this.
2. I was informed today that a Portuguese YouTuber copied the script for my "Disney Princess grass" video, which is both kinda sad and rather flattering. I've done the proper work to get his video taken down, so hopefully that process goes better than the MFK thing.
Submitting the appeals for those things (alongside the other stuff today) took time, and so I got around to making today's short later than usual. Typically I try to post daily just to keep views going strong, but since the MFK thing killed those views anyways (and I posted 2 shorts yesterday), I don't feel too bad about pushing this one to tomorrow. It's a pretty fun idea, but it's 1:00 AM and I've hardly started. Sleep sounds good.
Thanks again for 190k subscribers! Ya'll are great, and normal uploads will resume tomorrow :)
also I have 2 more Win or Lose videos planned; apologies if it seems like that's all I talk about now, this is my first time reviewing a show as it's releasing :.)
(oh and I stand by pretty much all of my trailer reactions by the way... just because the movie's good doesn't mean the trailer isn't ;)
this is especially dumb since that video is my fastest growing short EVER, somehow hitting 882 thousand views in just 2 days. Which by the way is absolutely insane, thank you guys so freaking much :)
I forgot to include this in today's video... I made PlayDoh versions of a few of my characters back in the day, and I think Bacon Guy is the only one that survived :.)
he looks pretty accurate though, so I'll take it ;)
I put out the recent video about Captain America 4 and why I think it's gonna fail, and as many pointed out... a lot of the info's not true. I messed up. In the exact same way I literally mocked people for messing up over Sonic VS Mufasa, which is really ironic and extremely dumb of me. The video's taken down. I'm sorry I didn't pull it sooner; I hadn't checked the comments or the video's progress until about half an hour ago, and noticed pretty fast that I'd done something wrong.
Several of you suggested a video by The Whole Shebang debunking the severity of the reshoots, the "bad test screenings", and the giant budget, and all of his points were correct. The articles I was referencing were all from a singular source (which disregarding the trustworthiness of the source, that's typically a red flag), and that SOURCE, the World of Reel, is apparently a well-known bed of misinformation. That should have been my first sign of trouble.
The reshoots were only 22 days, not multiple rounds or multiple months like I'd thought. I made the mistake of just assuming that was true since I'd heard it so much, which any idiot can tell you is a recipe for disaster. I knew the $350 million budget was too high, and since "tHeRe wErE sO mAnY rEsHoOtS" $180 million sounded too low... but looking at it now, $180 million sounds a lot more believable. And the "bad test screenings" were a singular dude who didn't like the film.
I wish I'd seen Shebang's video before I made my short; the only thing dumber than believing that misinformation was me spreading it. That's on me, and I apologize. I'll try to do better research in the future.
HEY SO UPDATE: I did some improper research for today's Sonic VS Mufasa short; Sonic 3 isn't out everywhere yet, and in many places it released a week later than Mufasa did. That DEFINITELY affects its global box office :.) BUT... I kept seeing people making weird claims about Sonic VS Mufasa, so I did some research and discovered there's a LOT of misinformation about the topic
1: "Sonic hasn't released in most theaters yet!" No, it's released in most places. It released LATER in several places, but they've since had their opening weekends. There ARE 10 markets Sonic HASN'T released in yet: Greece, Italy, Poland, Brazil, South Korea, China, Argentina, the Philippines, Turkey, and 1 other country I could not find for the life of me. The first Sonic released in 56 markets, so Sonic 3 has probably released in 46 so far, or 82% of markets.
Will these last 10 markets be super important to Sonic's success? I did the math, and (discounting the 1 country I couldn't find)...
Sonic 1 made 22 million in those markets (with most of that coming from Brazil) Sonic 2 made 32 million in those markets... although I couldn't find any info on how well it did in China. Sonic 1 wasn't a huge deal in China though, so it probably wasn't a lot if it released at all
Looking at the trends, those 10 markets will definitely help Sonic, but they're not gonna be TOO big a deal in Sonic's race to beat Mufasa.
2: "Disney bullied Sonic out of theaters!" This was a REALLY weird claim I saw a BUNCH of people mention, so I looked into it... and I think it's a bit bogus. Here's the original article:
First off, "That Park Place" is a website I'd never heard of until now... I try to take most of my info from bigger publications after I got burned by the fake Goonies sequel announcement, and not a single big news outlet has covered the Disney Sonic/Mufasa bullying situation. That's always a red flag. Furthermore, ALL the videos I found about the the situation (YellowFlash 2, Words of Paradise, Ryan Kinel, Mr. H Reviews, UnVoke, etc.) tagged this article, so unless I'm missing something, this is the primary source of that claim.
The article pretty much states that Disney always manages to put their movies into more theaters than their competitors, and explains that while Sonic is making more money (domestically), it can't be shown in many extra theaters because of Disney's Mufasa deal. Disney's not forcing Sonic out, Mufasa just has more theaters than Sonic.
First off, this isn't bullying, it's business. Disney's a bigger company than Paramount, so they automatically have an advantage. And secondly, it's not as big an advantage as it might seem! Mufasa is in 4,100 theaters, while Sonic is in 3,769. It's a difference of 331, which isn't a huge advantage. So overall, the claims of "bullying" or even "Disney's pushing Sonic out of theaters!" seem completely fake.
Listen, I should have done better research for today's video, and I apologize for that. Hopefully this extra research makes up for it. And hey, if I missed anything (again), please tell me in the comments ;)

Here's the DMs between me and YouTube. I apologize if my tone seems a bit rude, I am quite sick of this.
There's really not much I can do except call them out again, so... here we are.
@YouTube fix your systems.
