What a pleasant surprise. We are getting two character buffs and a new shop to get the presents to obtain character fragments or materials from the new banner that appeared.
S-Shark and S-Hawk are getting buffs. The best of the two that received the most love is obviously S-Hawk.
S-Shark received only a few changes. Skill 1 will now deal 15% HP damage per hit rather than 10%, Skill 2 will deal more damage and heal more, you will heal by 10% than the 5% while attacking Power Users, you will recover Skill 1 faster while attacking obstacles created by the enemy by 15% rather than 10%, and reduce damage taken from the weaker element by 30%.
S-Hawk is way better in terms of buffs received. He got the Alber treatment.
Skill 1 has its cooldown reduced for Skill 1 to 29 seconds and gives an increase in speed when used, Skill 2 has been reduced to 35 seconds and can now deal either ignore DEF damage or ignore damage reduction if you charge it or not, if you perfect dodge you will get 3 perfect dodges so you will no longer have to rely solely on the third hit to get them, you will recover 15% HP when KO'd once, you will gain the benefit of damage increase and resisting stagger and down in any treasure area, your status nullification has been increased from 70% to 50% HP allowing you to be immune to them for longer, and if you attack an enemy with a Skill, you will be able to increase your ATK to a max of 75% which resets on KO.
Overall, the character buffs are great much greater for S-Hawk, but quite underwhelming for S-Shark I feel like he needed more.
New Log in bonus (💩), new event medals, and Egghead Brook is here.
The new event medals provide useful Tags if you do not have many characters to work with in your possession. Straw Hat Pirates Tag is always good to have. As for the medals effects from the new Event Egghead Usopp and Franky... They are decent. Recovering Skill 1 from allies KOing an enemy or you by 3% is decent and reducing damage by 3% while fighting an enemy with boosted attack is okay. Still, the main the thing about these event medals is the ability to obtain the new traits of either dealing extra damage to the enemy you are strong against or high stats if you lack 18% traits. Farm the medals if you like or save your hammers.
Egghead Brook is in the game for a guarantee of 750 gems or 15 tickets total from doing three rotations on the banner. You do manage to get three medal transfer traits if you, but for only Straw Hat Pirates with 14% traits for HP, ATK, or DEF.
Should you summon for Egghead Brook? It is tough to say, his main strength comes from his Icy Chill of Hell State to ignore the enemy's defense with his normal attacks. Brook can also deal percentage damage with his downed state and deals a lot of damage to Runners with Skill 1. Plus, he is the first Blue Element color changer to Red and Green. His state can give him the ability to be immortal unless he fights someone who nullifies the 1 HP trait. He looks great, I have seen gameplay of him, but without his state and the still many present Kizarus in the game... You will not live for long. Sure, Brook can kind of counter Light Gear 5 Luffy, but for everyone else... It is tough without his state active. I do like the color changing mechanic, but inflicting Freeze on characters who gain buffs from getting inflicted by it or are immune to it does not seem useful at all. If he had the ability to recover his skills or health from failure to inflict Freeze would be a lot better to fight other characters in the game despite his ability to color change. Light Shanks destroys Brook.
I say skip or summon if you hate Gear 5 Luffy so much and want a quick solution to the problem. Brook works... Sometimes. 🤔
New Log in bonuses offering character fragments and gems, new shop for Boost 2 DEF orbs, and EX Kuzan is back in a few different banners.
Remember, if you do not have a lot of Boost 1 DEF orbs to trade, go for the two low cost options and avoid the 10 cost.
As for the EX Kuzan banner, it is only worth summoning for the golden fragments steps and avoiding the rest. To get a guarantee EX Kuzan, you have to get 50 tickets and you can only get 8 total from the banner that offers golden fragments on the fourth step meaning you have to get the rest of the tickets from summoning on the separate banner for 50 gems per ticket.
In other words, you need: 410 gems for 8 tickets on one banner 2100 gems for 42 tickets on the other banner. 2510 gems total for EX Kuzan who has a difficult time fighting off EX Kizaru and EX Light Gear 5 Luffy.
Should you summon for EX Kuzan? It depends, do you want to waste your gems now or save for the real Anniversary next year. It is only a few months off and then we get the next EX. Better yet, we may get Holiday units too later. Christmas Yamato? 😘
In all seriousness, if you like EX Kuzan and want to try out that new Tag for increased damage dealing on Runners with the Former/ Admiral Tag active, having EX Kuzan as Support can work good for your Defenders especially defending against Light Luffy. Kuzan is still a great character, but you have to be aware of everything going on or you can be destroyed fast.
I'm summoning for those golden fragments by the way. 🤓
