Hey y’all! Happy birthday to my December & January Capricorns! Today is the day of the Winter Solstice ❄️ — “the longest night of the year.” And it’s 12:21 PM right now — me typing too! 🩵

Today’s energy represents in a form of two themes I picked up symbolically — the Grinch & Usher’s “Can You Help Me?” Starting in Capricorn season, you are at the “Midnight of the Soul” — which is at the peak (and it’s 12:25 — Merry Christmas! 🎄 Sorry! 🤭) of darkness, but it marks the exact moment the light begins to return. This solstice energy gives us the chance to start building new, more authentic foundations for your life.

Mercury is currently in Sagittarius squaring the Nodes of Fate (Rahu/NN & Ketu/SN) — forming a bridge between being stuck in an old story and asking for help to reach the new one. This puts “a fork in the road” regarding how you speak your truth, especially if you’re caught between what you used to believe (Ketu) and the new direction you are being pulled (Rahu). This transit pushes you to stop repeating old mental patterns and instead speak a new, perhaps “scarier,”truth.

What to Do with these Energies:
❄️ Don’t be afraid of asking for help; it cannot be seen as weak if you allow yourself to be strong enough to ask.

Winter Bloom begins. ❄️🌹

This Christmas season, I’m holding close the softness of Nikki Giovanni’s “Winter Poem” — the way a single snowflake becomes rain, and the rain becomes a flower. ❄️☔️

I’m also remembering the Grinch, whose “heart grew three sizes”; it’s not because the world changed, but because he did. ♥️♥️♥️

Both stories remind me of my great-grandmother Sallie that I once overlooked: her gentleness, her warmth, and the way she taught me that the coldest seasons still “hold room for bloom.”

It’s Spooky season—my favorite season of the year! 🎃😈

October holds this sacred place where the veil is lifted in the air, a time when the veil between worlds feels a little thinner. It’s a natural season to tune in, retreat, and connect with the roots of our own stories—our lineage. ✨

Now, my grandma was a Jehovah’s Witness (even though I do not identify as one or such), but I do appreciate the power of prayer from her through her own prayers and draw myself to the Bible when reciting and praying. *Sidenote: you can also connect with your loved one by doing something that continues their legacy or highlight a major milestone that they have overcame with conviction, such as my grandma’s history of beating 3 types of cancer (kidney, thyroid, and breast) and remembering her own personal stories of beating breast cancer specifically by celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.* 🩷🤲🏾

A gentle but very important note: Before beginning any ancestral connection (you don’t have to be spiritual, religious, or otherwise), always set a clear intention. Your energy is a sacred space to make sure that your connections are protected and for your highest good. Remember…intention is everything. 🕯️
