The Right Narrative

Shocking. A German officer treats a peaceful protester like an enemy, not a citizen. Freedom of assembly is a right, not a privilege. This is excessive force and it demands an independent investigation, identification of the officer, and accountability—now

We condemn the violent arrest seen in this footage. The use of force against a non-violent demonstrator violates both the spirit and letter of Germany’s Basic Law: the right to peaceful assembly (Article 8) and freedom of expression (Article 5).
We call on the authorities to:
(1) identify and immediately suspend the officer involved;
(2) release full body-camera and bystander footage; (3) appoint an independent investigator; and
(4) adopt clear de-escalation protocols at demonstrations to ensure that policing serves public safety and civil liberties—not intimidation

What we’re watching isn’t “maintaining order”—it’s the criminalization of dissent. In a democracy, police protect rights, they don’t brutalize citizens for protesting. Publish the body-cam, suspend the officer pending an independent probe, and commit to de-escalation at future protests. Germany’s Basic Law protects peaceful assembly (Art. 8) and free expression (Art. 5). Hold that line in practice—not just on paper
