Martin Stürtzer

Martin Stürtzer is an Ambient / Electronic / Dub Techno artist from Wuppertal (Germany). I work with analog, digital, hardware and virtual instruments to create Ambient, Electronic and Dub Techno music. I release music on CD / Vinyl / Bandcamp and play live. In march 2020 I started the Home Concert series where I play a live show from my studio on every first sunday of the month at 20:00 CET. I am also running the dark ambient projects Phelios & Sphäre Sechs and organise a dark ambient festival in a church called Phobos Festival.

Shipping to the USA is possible again. The cost of shipping a CD used to be €3.50, and is now €37.37. I hope your country is now safe from the Ambient Antifa.

Dear friends and listeners,

I am delighted to release my new Dub Techno EP "Acoustic Systems" today. I recorded the music in the last weeks inspired by my hiking tour through the mountains of Norway.

Thank you very much for your comments and messages. I read every one of them and truly appreciate your support. Writing a reply to each comment would set me back into the very bad mood I’ve had after that frustrating experience. There’s no winner in this; I’m sorry for everyone who made the trip to see my performance and was disappointed.

To look forward and move ahead, I’ll put together some sounds on the Osmose and Super-6 and do an Ambient Night livestream tonight.

Here is my complaint: After weeks of preparations, 11 hours on the road and 3 hours in border control I am back home. I was denied entering the UK and won't be able to perform tomorrow.

Dear friends and listeners,

Today I started a Patreon page! -> www.patreon.com/martinstuertzer

Since 2016, I’ve been working full-time as a professional musician. Making Ambient and other electronic music is a substantial part of my life, and I’m very grateful and happy that so many people support me by purchasing my music, listening online, and engaging on YouTube and other platforms.

Over the past few months, I’ve thought a lot about the future and how I can bring more stability into my life as a musician. My income is highly dependent on releasing new albums in quick succession, which is problematic from an artistic point of view. I want to meet my own quality standards and create music that I feel a close emotional connection to.

I’ve tried to come up with a concept for a Patreon page that allows fans and listeners to support me and my work on a regular basis. The content will be centered around my music and music production. I’ve already uploaded an unreleased ambient track, a walkthrough video, and the synthesizer patches I used in that track.

It’s important to me to mention that I will continue to release all of my music without a paywall—on YouTube, Bandcamp, and streaming services. The Home Concerts, Ambient Nights, and occasional music production videos will continue as before.

Thanks a lot, and best wishes,
Martin
