The sand lily (*Pancratium maritimum*) is a highly valuable and protected plant due to its endangered status, endemic nature, and elegant appearance.
Turkey, Greece (particularly the island of Crete), Italy, France, Spain, Cyprus, Israel, and Lebanon.
North Africa and Atlantic coasts: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and the Canary Islands.
Black Sea coasts: It grows along the northern coasts of Türkiye as well as the coasts of Bulgaria and Georgia.
The sand lily has been classified as "Vulnerable" on a global scale by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Coastal tourism and beach-cleaning vehicles are the greatest threats to this flower worldwide.
