This is a self-drive day tour: you will travel independently between stops by car, and I will guide you through each church in turn. Expect medieval wall paintings uncovered by a wartime bomb, a rood screen rescued and restored, and centuries of visitor graffiti scratched into porches and pews. You will also take home a bespoke souvenir booklet with the day’s notes.

WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN COMING ON A CHURCH TOUR WITH ME?
Would anybody be interested in coming for a Lincolnshire church tour with me on the 19th of September 2026. This will be a self-drive tour and I will guide you around six of the best Lincolnshire churches near Grantham and close to the A1, looking at the architecture, monuments, art, wall paintings and stained glass - including the glorious bench end of St George below. The day will also include a break for a pub lunch. If this is something that would interest you let me know your thoughts in the comments below. At this stage I am just gauging potential interest and if there is clear interest here I will then create a booking page. Numbers for the tour will be limited to ten people. I hope you enjoyed my latest video on Arthur's round table at Winchester. In that video I referred to 'Francis I of England.' It is always good to have a bit of a chuckle at one's mistakes, but was it really a mistake? Lovely to see this photo today of the King at the Castle of Mey. He was planting a rose called in the King's Rose in the garden created by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, who adored roses. He is stood in front of the Queen Mother's favourite seat in the garden - the one featured in my latest video where she is shown with her corgis.

A Happy New Year to you all. My apologies for the slowness of content since Christmas, I have been having a bit of an extended break with a time to catch up on reading. I feel much refreshed for it and raring to go and I am back tomorrow with a new video. It is four years since I started the channel this month, and for the first video of the year I am going back to where I began. I will finally give you the promised sequel to my first video on St Cuthbert's relics, by looking at the treasures found in the coffin of St Cuthbert. That is going to be followed quickly on its heels by a continuation of my series on lost Tudor royal palaces, and I'll begin by looking at Margaret Beaufort's London residence, Cold Harbour - one that is very little known! So there is lots of interesting videos coming along, and be assured I am not resting on my laurels in 2026! Thanks for watching.
