비가 쏟아지던 밤.
아직, 어쩌면 오랫동안 이름 붙일 수 없는 사이.
공교롭게도 한 우산 아래 말 없이 걸어가는 길.

우산을 건네줄 때 스친 손끝만으로도 가슴 밖으로 튀어나올 듯한 너의 심장 박동이 전해지고,
걸을 때마다 어깨에 바스락거리며 스치는 옷 소리, 빗소리, 흙냄새, 멀리서 먹먹하게 들리는 도로의 소음, 두 어깨가 민망하게 딱 붙지 않고서야 한 사람은 젖을 수 밖에 없는 야속한 너비의 검은 우산 속.

말소리는 더 또렷하게 더 가까이서 들리고, 내 쪽으로 기울인 우산 탓에 네 어깨가 다 젖는 것을 알 때.
서로 다 알면서도 굳이 말로 옮기지 않을 때.

건네받은 우산, 사실 내가 자처한 일이다. 그럼 그렇지.

닿을 듯 말듯, 스칠 듯 말듯.
멀리서만 지나치던 네 향기가 더 진하게 느껴지고

Starting this week, the 〈Chimhyang〉 spin-off will be taking a two-week break. 🪡

Since launching the channel in May, I’ve kept going without a single break, from the main series all the way through the spin-off. After a lot of thought also considering my health condition, I decided to take a short pause so I can keep creating at a higher quality for the long run.

〈Chimhyang〉 Season 2 is also in its final stages of production. During these two weeks, I’ll focus on finishing Season 2 and take a little time to recharge, so I can return with even better scenes and stories. ☺️ I’d be very grateful for your understanding.

And one warning in advance.

When I come back in two weeks, I’m planning to be absolutely unstoppable… so brace yourselves. 😌💙

Rainy Night / Under One Umbrella

Rain was pouring that night.

There was still no name for what we were.

Perhaps there wouldn’t be for a long time.

By chance, we found ourselves walking in silence beneath one umbrella.

When I handed you the umbrella, our fingertips brushed. That alone was enough for me to feel your heartbeat, as though it might burst straight out of your chest.

With every step came the soft rustle of our clothes as our shoulders brushed, the rain, the smell of wet earth, the muffled noise of the road somewhere in the distance.

All beneath a black umbrella just narrow enough that unless our shoulders pressed awkwardly together, one of us had no choice but to get wet.

Your voice sounded clearer. Closer.

And then I noticed your shoulder getting soaked because you had tilted the umbrella toward me.

We both knew.

Neither of us said it aloud.

The umbrella you handed me.

Truth is, I was the one who volunteered to take it. Of course.

Almost touching. Almost brushing.

The scent of you, something I had only ever caught from a distance, feels stronger now.

If I move closer, will you pull away?

Or will you stay?

Will you notice how I feel?

How have you been? Did you think of me?

What if I held you? Touched you? What kind of expression would you make?

No. Have I lost my mind?

Thoughts far too loud for a moment like this keep circling in my head.

Feeling suddenly self-conscious, I adjust my grip on the umbrella and say something I don’t really mean, just to make you smile once more.

雨が激しく降っていた夜。

まだ、名前のつけられない関係。

もしかすると、これからも長いあいだ名前のないままかもしれない関係。

たまたま一つの傘に入り、何も言わず歩いていく。

君に傘を渡したとき、触れた指先だけで、胸から飛び出しそうな君の鼓動が伝わってくる。

歩くたび、肩が触れて衣擦れの音がする。

雨音。濡れた土の匂い。遠くの道路から聞こえる、くぐもった音。

肩と肩が気恥ずかしいほど近づかなければ、どちらか一人は濡れてしまう。

そんな少し意地悪な幅の、黒い傘の下。

声はもっとはっきりと、もっと近くに聞こえる。

こちらへ傘を傾けたせいで、君の肩がすっかり濡れていると気づくとき。

お互いわかっているのに。

それでも、あえて言葉にはしないとき。

そもそも、持つと言い出したのは自分だ。

まあ、そうなるよな。

触れそうで、触れない。

かすめそうで、かすめない。

遠くですれ違うだけだった君の香りが、今はもっと濃く感じられる。

抱きしめたらどうなる。

どんな顔をするんだろう。

この場には似合わない、騒がしい考えばかりが頭の中を巡る。

It offers a chance to see familiar Seo-jin and Do-ha in a slightly unfamiliar time and atmosphere, with a different tone from the main story. ☺️

It is not connected to the timeline or setting of the main series, and you do not need to watch the spin-off to understand 〈Chimhyang〉.
