Hello Folks,
I have been creating art pieces for more than two decades. Couples years ago, I started focusing part of my art journey on portrait drawing. I have studied many different methods (e. g. Loomis). I found them interesting and good observations but at the end I am still thinking artist's observation and training eyes to see better is the most effective way for me. I feel the more we depend on methods and rules the less we pay attention to the reference and that takes some valuable emotions from the reference.
