Why 24-bit Master for YouTube?
Quality In, Quality Out — The Truth About Our 24-bit Workflow

"I’ve received some great technical questions recently: 'Since YouTube compresses audio to Opus 160kbps, why bother uploading 24-bit Uncompressed/ProRes files?'

It’s a fair question! Here is why we do it at JOA, NurAI, and VoEE:

Minimizing 'Generation Loss': If we upload a compressed MP4/MP3, YouTube compresses it again. This double-compression destroys the micro-details. By uploading a 24-bit Master, we ensure only one high-quality transcode happens at the very end.

Dynamic Range & Texture: A 24-bit source provides the YouTube encoder with much better data to work with. This preserves the natural 'air' in the recordings, the punch of the drums, and the subtle decay of instruments.

Future-Proofing: We want to provide the best possible version that technology allows today.

Think of it like cooking: Even if the final dish is served on a small plate, using the freshest, high-grade ingredients always results in a better taste than using pre-processed ones.

A New Sonic Era for JOA, NurAI, and VoE² — Starting March 29, 2026

"Hello to all audio enthusiasts and dedicated listeners!

I am excited to announce a significant upgrade in production standards across all my channels: Jogja Omah Audio (JOA), NurAI Soundworks, and Voice of Eternal Echoes (VoE²).

Starting March 29, 2026, every new release will be uploaded using the Apple ProRes 422 Master Format with 24-bit Uncompressed Audio.

Why this matters for your ears:
While this requires massive 20GB+ file renders and much longer upload times, it is the only way to ensure that the raw textures of the drums, the micro-dynamics of the instruments, and the original sonic clarity of my studio masters remain intact. By providing YouTube with a 'Lossless-grade' source, I am ensuring you hear the most accurate representation possible through the Opus codec.

I highly recommend using your best Headphones or Hi-Fi Systems for all upcoming releases to fully appreciate the depth and detail of these 24-bit renders.
