First, it was a scare a few months ago. But then it really happened… Q is gone. Of course, my heart is hurting. I’ve known Quincy Jones for most of my life. Not that I saw him everyday, but his presence from the moment I met him at 14 years old, when I came down the stairs at the Apollo Theater in New York, has always been with me. So, I celebrate all that he’s done in his life for not only me, but for all of us musicians, artists, producers and arrangers. He’s done it all. He’s done it with and for the greatest. And yet, we’re lonely here without him. God Bless Quincy. God Bless all of the angels in heaven that will be creating incredible music in the spirit of love because that is truly what makes the world go round. Rest in peace, Quincy.
