I'm uploading some Flaming Lips stuff that (mostly) isn't on YouTube and attempting to create somewhat of a Flaming Lips live archive. Hopefully this channel can help people find some songs/performances they've been seeking out. Feel free to send me shows to upload at flowersofneptune6@gmail.com

All audio show-recordings feature download links at the bottom of the description; in brackets you will be able to see what the file type is. For those only interested in lossless files like FLACs, I have a playlist just for them which you can find in the 'home' section of the channel, or alternatively in the 'playlist' section.

On my channel you'll also be able to find some interviews I've conducted with members of The Flaming Lips and some of their past collaborators! More of that original content is coming soon...

Today marks 5 years of this YouTube channel...

I'd like to thank everyone that's been following and supporting me all these years, the words of encouragement have truly helped and kept me motivated all this time! I've had a lot of fun!

Although my live recordings collection will be coming to an end shortly, I'm happy to say that I will be ramping things up quite heavily on the interview side. I've got around 20 different guests currently lined up for future videos, ranging from members of the Lips, opening acts, producers, roadies, and more.

I also have a couple of documentary style videos planned that will feature numerous guests... so there's a lot in the works!

This channel has afforded me opportunities I've never thought possible, and getting to know so many wonderful folks has been a great joy! I feel truly grateful for this experience!

I'm still on the hunt for more live recordings however, so if anyone has anything they'd be willing to share, then I'd love for them to email me at flowersofneptune6@gmail.com

400 Flaming Lips concerts now available! | Recordings I'm on the lookout for

As some of you may have already seen, this NXNE 2012 show is the 400th Flaming Lips concert I've uploaded here on YouTube. I thought I'd make a post here marking the milestone.

I just want to send a big thank you to everyone that's ever sent me a show or shared their collection, I really appreciate the help!

As my collection currently stands, I still have around 75 shows to upload, however I'm still on the hunt for more. There are around 150 live recordings I'm aware of that have eluded me all these years. In the comments of this post, I'll be featuring lists for audio and video recordings that I don't have. If anyone has any of these and is willing to share them, I'd love for them to email me at flowersofneptune6@gmail.com

The lists aren't definitive, these are just the shows I'm aware of, there's likely many recordings that aren't on my list simply because I don't know they exist (or I just forgot when putting the list together), so feel free to reach out if you have a show that's not on the list as I may not have it, any help is greatly appreciated!

📾 On May 16, 1998, The Flaming Lips conducted their thirteenth Boombox Experiment at The Forum in London, England. This was the only Boombox Experiment to take place outside the United States. Listen to an audio recording of this show here: https://youtu.be/7EF2pNPTjZs 📾

This show featured several special guests manning boomboxes, such as Miki Berenyi (Lush), Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), Tim Gane (Stereolab), Martin Carr (Boo Radleys) and members of Sonic Boom.

*NOTICE: 1 MORE VIDEO REMOVED, COPYRIGHT STRIKE 2/3*

Just letting everyone know that another video has been taken down, in addition to the two videos I posted about the other day.

The Lips' 2004 Austin City Limits broadcast has now been removed and I've received a second copyright strike. If I receive one more copyright strike then my channel will be gone for good. So fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

I think I might set some videos to private for the time being to try and stay under the radar. The strikes expire after 90 days so I'll try and stay in the clear until then.

I'd recommend people download and save videos they like since it's a very real possibility that my channel could be terminated. I also have an Instagram account under ‪@thesatellitehead‬ and a Twitter under @slownerve99, so if anything happens to the channel, I'll post about it over there.

*NOTICE: 2 VIDEOS REMOVED*

I'm making a post here to let everyone know that two videos from my channel have been taken down due to copyright and that I've received a copyright strike.

The first was the Lips' Austin City Limits performance with Beck from 2002, the second was the Lips' appearance on Triple J's Like A Version from 2009.

If anyone is interested in seeing these videos, feel free to email me at flowersofneptune6@gmail.com and I'll try to get back to you when I can.

The live DVD that never was...

On July 23rd, 2006, The Flaming Lips performed live at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California.
This show was professionally filmed and intended to be released as a live DVD, however the Zoo Amphitheatre show from later in the year ended up taking its place, and thus the Hollywood Bowl footage has yet to see the light of day.

Listen to an audience recording of the show here 👇 and read the video description if you wish to learn more about the concert and why it was never released

On August 22nd, 1999, The Flaming Lips played the final show of the Music Against Brain Degeneration Revue tour at The Agora in Cleveland, Ohio.

This took place the night after the Electric Factory gig that was filmed for HBO Reverb and is possibly the only concert from the Soft Bulletin tour to not feature a performance of "Race For The Prize".

Thanks to Jamie Gustkey for taping the show and providing the promotional material I've attached to this post!

📾 On March 3, 1998, The Flaming Lips conducted their sixth Boom-Box Experiment at The Showbox in Seattle, Washington. Watch a video recording of the show here: https://youtu.be/xOq_B4JUcoY 📾

In the video description, I've included a download link for a PDF of the pamphlet that was handed out before the show.

The photos included in this post were featured on the old Flaming Lips website. You can catch a glimpse of two of the many special guests that were in attendance for this show, Krist Novoselic and David Dederer!
