Counting the compás is a really useful skill.
But eventually, your ears need to do some of the work too.
Because the musicians won't pause while you work out where the 12 is.
Instead, you begin recognising familiar patterns in the music that tell you exactly where you are.
That's a very different experience.

What if you've been blaming yourself for the wrong problem?

But after years of teaching, I don't think that's usually the problem.
More often, the missing piece is knowing what to listen for.
Once you start recognising the clues in the music, you stop relying on counting, guessing, or watching everyone else to work out where you are.
You begin recognising what's happening.
And that's when Bulerías starts feeling much less mysterious.

Counting can be helpful, but it's not the same as recognising what's happening in the music.

And that's exactly why I made it.
If you're perfectly happy learning another choreography, hoping compás eventually clicks, or quietly following the dancer next to you... this probably isn't what you're looking for.
But if you’re still asking the question,
"Is this the 12?"
...then I think you'll recognise yourself here.
Because Hearing the 12 wasn't created to teach more steps.
It was created to help dedicated flamenco dancers stop guessing where they are in the compás... and start recognising it instead.

Quick question.
