I'm Kuansiew—author, illustrator and engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

By training, I'm an engineer with a background in technical writing. By vocation, I'm a storyteller—across two very different kinds of pages.

As a writer, I work in literary nonfiction and fiction. My health memoir is an honest account of illness, advocacy, and learning to speak up in spaces that don't always make room for the patient's voice.

As an illustrator, I create children's books, currently a 7-book phonics series, and working towards illustrated stories about animal adoption and rescue, because those stories matter and not enough of them exist yet.

The engineer in me brings precision to everything—the structure of a sentence, the composition of an illustration, the clarity of a page that has to work for a 5-year-old on their very first read.
