With the signing of Ronan Curtis… yes, I have finally got his name right today 😅
The reaction so far has been largely positive, especially on X and across our own Facebook posts. As expected, there are a few airing caution or simply not convinced yet – that comes with any signing.
Curtis hasn’t played a huge amount of football during his two years at Port Vale (73 appearances, 11 goals), but that feels more like a Vale issue than a Curtis one. His underlying numbers stack up well, his player traits look strong, and when you compare him to someone like Bali Mumba on FotMob, the potential is clear.
He’ll be reuniting with Laurent Tolaj and you’d imagine both Derek Adams and Tom Cleverley would’ve spoken to Tolaj before getting this one done. His Argyle TV interview has also gone down well and gives a real insight into a frustrating spell at Vale.
So from us at Block 9, this feels like a very shrewd bit of business. As always… time will tell ⏳
