Welcome to our South African garden! We have many different garden birds in the day and other critters at night. Allen BirdCam feeder is in a Pretoria, Tshwane suburban garden.
You can watch more than 50 bird species, bats, genets and bushbabies.

Live Nest cam Green Wood hoopoe, Phoeniculus purpureus
Nest is a sisal log that was hollowed out by Barbets and used for a few years by Barbets & Wood hoopoes. Log cleaned, repaired cracks and camera fitted November 2022.
1st egg laid on 2023-04-04
2nd egg laid on 2023-04-05
Honeyguide entered nest on 2024-04-05 and pecked eggs but did not lay own egg.
We hope the 2 eggs are ok. 😬
3rd egg laid on 2023-04-06
4th egg laid on 2023-04-07
Expected hatch dates 2023-04-20 to 24
