Most of us reach a point where our photos look “nice”… but somehow still feel empty. I was stuck there for years. I thought it was my gear, my settings, my editing…but it wasn’t. It was something much simpler.
I made this video to share what finally changed everything for me.
I used to think photography was about getting everything “right”… perfect composition, balance, control.
But the more I chased that, the more I realised I was missing what actually matters.
This video is about 5 (hard) lessons the 35mm lens forced me to learn. Lessons, not about technique, but about how we see, feel, and understand why we take photos in the first place.

It was an exciting experience with impressive sceneries that didn't lack surprises. At some point, my Sony A7III started behaving very strangely in the freezing cold and I had to decide whether to stop… or keep shooting.
For years I had imagined what it would feel like to photograph Iceland in the winter. A place shaped by fire, ice, and some of the most powerful landscapes on Earth.
A few days ago I finally stepped into that world with my camera… and the adventure started immediately.
Frozen waterfalls, erupting geysers, brutal winds, and at one point a camera that suddenly decided to behave very strangely.
This first video is the beginning of the journey. The first day of a winter road trip across Iceland in search of photographs and experiences that are difficult to describe.

💭 For almost 10 years, I believed that prime lenses were the right way to learn photography.
That the limitation… was the point.
And to be honest, that approach shaped the way I see and shoot even today.
But during my recent trip to Iceland, something changed.
There were moments where a zoom lens didn’t just help...it made the shot possible.
And that made me question something much bigger than just lenses.

Iceland has been on my mind for years.
A place shaped by fire, ice, and weather that never really asks for permission.
A few days ago I finally arrived, camera bag on my shoulder, not entirely sure what to expect.
The scale of this landscape is difficult to describe. Everything feels bigger, wilder, and a little unpredictable.
