How on EARTH has no NAS brand ever released a branded and native UPS? There have been NAS branded HDDs, SSDs, Memory Modules, NICs and even Surveillance cameras. Yet, it has taken till 2025 for ‪@UGREENUS‬ , a relatively new player in the world of NAS, to release their own UPS device that is specifically designed for their own UGREEN NAS systems. I have been trying to get hold of one for months and when I finally got hold of a US3000 UPS, colour me impressed! Review will be out on this on the channel that includes plenty of testing, but if you cannot wait, you can watch the review here via Early Access Members in a few hours when it is live - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b-UZ... or you can get one for yourself here on Amazon, currently on discount at $89 - amzn.to/4pCFYM4 and support the channel via commission we received via Amazon sales. Look forward to sharing the review soon!

*Put down that Friday pint, and listen!* So, now the dust has settled a bit overnight on the launch of the ⁨@UbiquitiInc⁩ UNAS systems, what do you think? As a 2nd wave of devices, there is alot to like here (and a few baffling things too!). But do any of these sound like the sorta storage that you can see yourself deploying? Or is their focus on efficiency above all else just a little lean for your tastes? So.. time for a poll! *groan* . What do you think?

To recap:
UniFi UNAS Pro 8 Review available here - https://youtu.be/UOOFqhf4S8k and here - nascompares.com/review/unifi-unas-pro-8-review/

SHOTS FIRED! @UniFi just revealed a pile of new NAS devices for their growing UNAS series, the Desktop UNAS 2 and UNAS 4, as well as the UNAS Pro 4 1U Rackmount and UNAS Pro 8 8-Bay 2U Rackmount NAS. Big moves from a brand that 1 year ago had no NAS hardware on the table! Aside from the understandable and predicted competitive pricing, these devices do bring a few extra surprises to the table. I am rarely surprised. But look what just arrived out of the blue at the office... the ‪@minisforumofficial‬ MS-S1 Max. Though the term "mini pc" is getting something of a bad back on this one from the strain, the S1 Max is the most beastly example of what Minisforum have been evolving on these last few years. Never thought I would call the MS-01 underpowered...but... this thing arrives with a beast AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 16 Core + 32 Thread CPU, 40 graphical cores at 2.9Ghz in the Radeon 8060S, Dual 10GbE (Copper!), 128GB RAM (ECC support still TBC, but I think 'Yes' on this processor), 80Gbps USB4, a frankly insane INTERNAL 320W PSU, WiFi 7 and a couple of Gen4 M.2 NVMe slots (because why the hell not?!)...

All this and at just twice the volume of the MS-01 and MS-A2, but the MS-S1 Max seemingly scales up almost everything we have seen yet ... JUST WHAT THE HELL AM I LOOKING AT HERE? Oh and this is not a sponsored post. They sent the kit, but the review is all mine and no money changed hands. So, will this thing flourish and change the game, or will it cook eggs and suck the national grid dry?! Review soon. #howdohastagswork #minisforum

Happy Sunday, everyone! I am still trying to figure out if there is much of an audience for the 'RAID Room' series - it's been viewed plenty, but still no idea whether fully publishing them all will harm the channel analytics or help them! Almost certainly gonna publish the RAID5 v RAID6 one later today, but just so I can "read the room" a bit, which one would you prefer to see next (or not at all!)? Cheers everyone.

Top Tip - If you are ordering a roast dinner at the pub today, always ask for extra gravy. Don't hesitate, just ask. You will thank me later.

Just got back from the ‪@synologyinc‬ Solutions event in London. A whole lot of stuff got covered, with further Scale out storage, surveillance and AI doing most of the heavy lifting! Stand out elements would be the DVA7400, a GPU-equipped NAS down the road, more indications of ABB getting supported and Synology Chat Plus and Meets. Of course, hard drives were discussed (fair-play to Synology, they addressed it first) but the answers still felt rather weak. Also, A #synology SD Card is a thing apparently... Read it all here in the wrap-up article, video soon - nascompares.com/2025/09/11/synology-solution-exhib…

Day 1 of the IFA 2025 event in Berlin kicks off soon and I am kinda of brain blasted by the amount of ‪@UGREENUS‬ advertising. I don't know what the going rate for a billboard is these days, but from the minute you step off the S-Bahn, you cannot move for it! Let's hope they can deliver on this, as it is pretty ballsy! #notsponsored #confused #howdohashtagswork

Hi! We will be at #IFA2025 in Berlin later this week, catching up with what's happening in Q3 and Q4! Anyone in particular you think we should visit? We have a packed schedule and already got the usual brands we cover in mind, but still a few gaps - so suggestions massively welcome! Have a fantastic week.
Also, see Ed's updates on his channel here - youtube.com/@DIGIBITE/videos (he digs into the backend of these devices more than I do!).
