Initially conceived to host a staggering 9 million residents, its scope has now been recalibrated to accommodate approximately 300,000 individuals by 2030, with a substantial reduction in its length from 105 miles to a compact 1.5 miles.
Recent reports from Unilad shed light on the challenges faced by the project, with one contractor initiating layoffs among its workforce. Delays have been persistent, prompting officials to openly acknowledge the hurdles in meeting the 2030 deadline.

I'm thrilled to share that last month I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master's Degree in Architecture! I am immensely grateful to my advisors, professors, and classmates who supported and challenged me throughout this academic journey. Their guidance and insights have been invaluable in shaping my understanding of architectural design and sustainability.
During my time at Penn, I had the incredible opportunity to delve into my thesis project focused on developing a floating architectural solution for the Maldives, a nation facing significant challenges due to sea level rise. The Maldives, with its breathtaking beauty and vibrant culture, inspired me to explore innovative ways to address the urgent environmental issues they face. Through extensive research, collaboration, and design iterations, my thesis centered around creating sustainable floating structures that can adapt to rising sea levels while providing vital infrastructure and preserving the unique essence of the Maldivian communities. Completing this thesis has not only deepened my knowledge and skills in architecture but has also reinforced my passion for creating sustainable and resilient solutions for our planet's most pressing challenges.
Lastly, I want to extend my heartfelt thank you to my family, friends, and mentors for their unwavering support and encouragement. Your belief in me has been instrumental in my success, and I am truly grateful for each one of you.
