Meteorologists predict a swampy August in Austin now that Paige Plaisance is Swampytonkin' up the KUTX airwaves!

Our newest Artist of the Month made a name for herself backing some of the country's biggest Americana artists while holding down regular appearances in Austin's honky tonks. Now she's showcasing her own sound — Louisiana boogie mixed with Central Texas two-steppin' — on her upcoming album, "Swampwater."

Paige celebrates the release with a show at Antone's on September 5th. She's also bringing her love of music and vintage fashion together for the HONKYTONK CATWALK at Sagebrush on September 26.

A longtime staple of Austin’s psych-rock scene, Holy Wave has become a familiar name far beyond its hometown, with appearances at Levitation France, SXSW, Austin Psych Fest, and Desert Daze.

With their seventh studio album *i’m DADA* out on Suicide Squeeze Records, the band enters a sharper, more rhythmic chapter, folding loops and samples into their familiar haze. Holy Wave’s calendar stays full through the rest of the year, with U.S. dates, a hometown show at 29th Street Ballroom on August 21, and a run through the U.K. and Europe.

A native Texan with a tri-coastal career spanning Austin, Los Angeles, and New York, Quentin has appeared at major festivals including Austin City Limits Music Festival and SXSW while earning a reputation for fearless live performances and genre-defying songwriting. Dubbed a “genre-hopping hustler” by the Austin Chronicle, they have evolved from their glam-rock roots with indie band The Past Lives, arriving at the expansive, emotionally charged sound heard on their debut album, *TOMGIRL.*

The blues-meets-slacker rock musician’s tenth studio album, Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me, is his “bringin it home to Philly” album, largely recorded in his home studio there and his first release following the death of longtime collaborator and former Swirlies bandmate Rob Laakso. The tour stops in Austin tonight with local demented indie rockers Being Dead opening! To celebrate, we’re opening up the Studio 1A vault with this gem caught live in Studio 1A back in 2016.
