Hi everyone!! I wanted to ask if you had any suggestions of which life series member you would want me to make in clay (Like the GeminiClay doll I posted about a month ago). I was also wondering if you had any name suggestions for what I would call the different figures, staying on the claymation theme.
I would love to try to make a video on creating a figure, but I don't know how good it will turn out. Editing has always been overwhelming to me, having to think about so many things like: music, having good clips, transitions, introductions, saying the correct things, conclusions, consistent style and stuff like that (or maybe more, I know nothing about editing). But I definitely want to try to step out my comfort zone and try this new art form!
One more thing, don't expect anything too soon, currently I'm crocheting a sweater and I am fixing up my craft.. uhm... studio? (I don't know what I would call it). But nevertheless I would be thrilled to start on making another doll!
So that being said, please let me know who you would like to see me make. Thank you!
Hello! I wanted to share with you all something I made, this is GeminiClay. I got a couple comments saying how my art style has nice shapes and would look nice in 3d, so I woke up at 4 in the morning and just decided to start crafting. I decided not to paint eyes or a mouth so that I could test what that would look like if digitally added on. I think it went well if you look at the fourth image (hopefully the gif works). I don't normally work with clay and I have never made an armature for a doll this small, much less clothes this small. Hemming was a nightmare so you can see how a gave up and hand sewed the hem of the sleeves. I did make the sleeves much wider than I planned, but I think I like how exaggerated it looks. The hair was very fun to make and curling the bangs were tedious, yet enjoyable. Overall, I loved this project so much and want to make more of these dolls in the future, I hope you love this GeminiClay as much as I do!!
Hi! I just wanted to let you all know session 4 and 5 animatic might come late, I am visiting family for the next 2 weeks and I want to enjoy my time with them. Unfortunately there is a good chance that the rest of the session animatics will come late as well because of other events happening in the following month or two. However, this does not mean I will not animate the next couple sessions at all, if I do it will either come out late, made to be shorter, or all of the videos come out at once, but right now I have no idea what will happen.
One more thing, thank you so much for all the sweet comments, it has been very nice to know that someone on the other side of the screen sees my art, and enjoys art in general as much as I do.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know about this, even though it pains me that this feels like an "I'm to lazy and don't have the dedication for this" kinda post, but I guess I do have life that I have to deal with, (along with insane relatives) but oh well. I would also like to tell you to have a good week, drink some water, eat some celery or if you so desire, eat a yard of chocolate and look at the color samples at a hardware store.
Hi!! I was working on some basic designs for the life series group and I wanted to know what you thought about them (make sure to tap to see full image). I wanted to keep everyone cohesive in style so it would seem like they could all fit in the same world and aren't just replicas of their skins (I don't think I did too well on that tho). I feel like a couple of them just don't look like themselves or something isn't quite right or maybe my proportions are off and thats what makes look odd. However, I am pretty happy with most of them, but I wanted to see if you all had any feedback or if you would like to share your thoughts.
All this time I thought Martyn's minecraft skin was of his headband cutting off the circulation to his head!!just realized this was false and he is just wearing a chunky headband (I think?). I have no idea how I thought that for years.
Anyways, I know it has been a bit since I posted that Limited Life animation but despite that I wanted to say thank you so much for all the love Im very glad you all enjoyed it, it means so much to me. A little side note from that, I'm so sorry if it was too violent, I did not think about that at all but I will try to tone it down in the future.
Another small thing, I kinda burned my self out animating all that. My brain has just taken more of an interest lately in sewing, crochet and other 3D arts, so I have been avoiding any art that requires a pencil and paper. So until my inspiration comes back for 2D art, I will be lurking in any hermitcraft/ life series video I can find.
now here are just some sketches of my designs in the limited life animation and a recent sketch of Joel as well
Hey!! I wanna give a little update on my art recently. I've been working on a long animatic/animation for awhile and I'm so happy with it so far. It just might take a couple more weeks to finish because of the size of it. But I hope you'll love it when it comes. Anyway here's some of my art I wanted to share along with this update, hope it's interesting and helps scares the little art block goblins away
Hi! Just wanted to share a crochet 5am Pearl doll I made. I was messing around to see if I could use glow in the dark features in crochet, I think I'm happy with the outcome. It was just a mess of mod podge, clay and glow in the dark powder in the process tho. The hair is a little wonky I've never attempted this style before, but nonetheless still love her.
Little fact about me I despise working digitally, so every sketch from work I've done, was done on paper first then later rendered/re worked digitally. It's extremely inefficient.
Just wanted to share a little art I made corresponding to my recent animatic. and in a odd coincidence to celebrate the new life series winner ('coincidence', seeing as I finished this minutes before the video released)
