Hello, everyone! From our little corner of the Japanese countryside, we wish you all a Merry Christmas! This year, we're blending our Christmas celebrations with some Japanese New Year's decorations (specifically, a Shimekazari, a wreath made of rice straw rope meant to welcome in good spirits for the new year), plus the usual delicious food and wonderful company.

I have a short Christmas video in the works, and while it may not be released until after the holiday season, there's still that to look forward to! Thank you all for your incredible support over the past year, and I hope you’re enjoying some well-deserved time with family and friends!

Hey everyone! I'm taking a brief hiatus on house reno content and turning my attention to bold flavors of yuzu that come into season in November and December in rural Japan. I even visited a small mountain village to see local chefs preparing for their annual yuzu festival, which, in turn, inspired three yuzu dishes at home. 😆 💃 Sunday, Dec. 22nd, at 6:00pm (JST). 👉Extra video November 24th, 6:00 pm (JST). 👈 A little while ago, I tried to switch things up and try out a more ambient-style video featuring Pancake while I was fixing some shoji doors. Recently, a commenter suggested capturing a video of Pancake sleeping, paired with soothing rain sounds in the background. Well, as luck would have it, Pancake was dozing off while it was raining outside. So, I thought, why not give it a shot?

I know this video style might not resonate with everyone, but I’m genuinely excited to hear your thoughts if this kind of content interests you. And don’t worry, this will NOT replace my current video style; it’s just a little extra treat for those who might enjoy it. :D

Hi everyone, Thank you to those who watched my last video and to those who pointed out a grave error I had made…. I didn’t include Pancake in the introduction. This was not out of malice—I just didn't have the right shot of him to flow naturally in the intro, and I casually thought that no one would notice... Obviously, I am a fool. A wretched, wretched fool. 😭🤪🙇‍♀️

I have learned my lesson, and Pancake has forgiven me, after I gave him an extra treat and promised him a leading role in the next video of course: about how we prepared for typhoons out here in the countryside of Japan. Stay tuned for it on Sept. 15th at 6:00pm JST!
