Political Literacy

This has been a difficult week for me. Stephen Colbert is one of the people I look up to in this world for his decency, his bravery to do the right thing, and of course - his impeccable sense of humor. Losing him to the corruption machine that is Trump's 2nd term is a difficult pill - especially when he is forced out as the #1 late night show on television for several years.

My incredible wife knew I was hurting and when I arrived at my desk to begin my work day she knew exactly what to say to cheer me up. She surrounded me with quotes that Stephen Colbert himself would use. Obviously they are from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien as Colbert is famously the #1 Tolkien fan on earth.

"But in the end, it's only a passing thing - this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come."

It's been over a year since I last posted a political history video. I work full-time in market research but also, my incredible daughter was born and I am completely in love with this little bear!

TOMORROW I will post a new video that covers the story of the invention of fake news as a political strategy. It's in interesting story that starts with the GOP's first conservative candidate, is inspired by the Jim Crow South, and takes place in the back of a 727 Boeing Jet.

How much more proof do MAGA voters need that they elected an authoritarian??? How about this...The United States of America is publicly backing the INVADING AUTHORITARIAN over the INVADED DEMOCRACY!!! Trump, Rubio, Vance and the rest of his goons are demanding that Ukraine gift Russia massive parts of their country!

I usually don't comment on international relations because its not my area of expertise. But, you don't need to be a IR scholar to see that Trump and the Republicans are continuing to align America with Putin and Russia and against the free world!

I think this is a massive deal and its a major step in the ongoing Trump/Putin authoritarian partnership that is reshaping the world for the much, much, much worse.

Republicans literally JUST blocked a bill to expand social security benefits. This is the stuff Democrats need to build their brand around. Republicans have been stealing from the middle-class for decades and social security and medicare are on the chopping block in the next 4 years!
