🔥 Our 2SC5200 transistor heater just got a major upgrade!
The heater now runs on an ESP32-C3 and has a color display that shows the SET temperature, actual temperature, current, UBE and POWER, so you can see what’s happening in real time.
We also added two buttons for easy temperature adjustment from 150°C to 250°C.
And the best part — the whole system is now much more compact! 🔥

I Built a Nixie Clock Without a Nixie Tube! 🔥 IN-14 + ESP32
No high voltage. No real Nixie tube. Just an ESP32-C3 + ST7789 and some custom graphics.

What if you could replace an old electronic tube with a display? ⚡
Recently, I made a digital emulation of the classic IN-14 Nixie tube using an ESP32 and a small display.
And it got me thinking — what if we could use the same idea to recreate an entire range of classic electronic devices?
For example, we could build:
🕐 Retro clocks with displays that emulate IN-14 or other vintage tubes;
📻 Internet radios with interfaces inspired by old tube equipment;
📟 Vintage measuring instruments with digitally simulated tube indicators;
🎛️ Control panels and displays designed to look like electronics from decades ago;
🔬 And even completely new DIY devices that combine a classic retro appearance with modern ESP32 technology.
The interesting part is that the ESP32 can handle all the logic, while a modern display can reproduce the visual appearance of the original tube — without the high voltage, complicated tube circuits, or the need to find rare components.
Of course, a display can't reproduce the actual physical properties of a vacuum tube or Nixie tube. But visually, the possibilities are really interesting.
I think this could become a whole new direction for some of my projects. ⚡

🤔 What if a single transistor could become a smart heating platform?
This temperature-controlled heating platform is built around an Arduino Nano and the powerful 2SC5200 transistor.
The Arduino continuously monitors and controls the temperature, while the 2SC5200 serves as both the heating element and the temperature sensor.
Special thanks to YouTube creator XUBOR007 for designing the original circuit and writing the Arduino sketch that made this project possible. This build is based on his schematic and code.

🌡️ Did you know that a regular digital voltmeter can be turned into a thermometer?
Most people use a multimeter only to measure voltage, but with one small LM35 sensor, you can turn it into an accurate temperature meter.
📌 No microcontrollers.
📌 No programming.
📌 Just one sensor and a power supply.
The LM35 outputs 10 mV for every degree Celsius, so temperature is directly displayed as voltage. For example:
• 15°C = 150 mV
• 30°C = 300 mV
• 100°C = 1000 mV

🍋 This might be one of the most old-fashioned experiments in electronics... but I still found it interesting 😄
I decided to test how many lemons it would take to get a useful voltage and whether they could power simple devices.
Results:
🔹 1 lemon - about 0.9 V
🔹 4 lemons in series - over 3.6 V
🔹 I managed to light an LED directly from the lemons ⚡
Yes, the idea isn't new. But sometimes it's fun to go back to old experiments and test everything yourself, rather than just watching other people's videos.

☕❄️ What can you make from a coffee can?
For this experiment, I used:
🔹 A coffee can
🔹 A computer fan
🔹 3 18650 batteries
🔹 Battery holders
🔹 A fan speed controller
🔹 A few bolts and nuts
🔹 Some ice 😄
The result is a mini battery-powered air cooler.
Yes, the idea may seem strange, and judging by the comments, many consider it useless. But the goal wasn't to replace a real air conditioner, but to see what could be built from scrap parts and see the results for myself.
Personally, I enjoy doing unusual experiments like these. Sometimes the strangest ideas turn out to be the most interesting. 😎

🔥 Experimenting with unusual soldering tools!
I assembled a simple heating setup using a KD366 transistor, an LM5116 buck converter, and a 19V laptop power supply.
The transistor heats up enough to melt solder and work with SMD components 😳

I opened the thyristor D238A from my previous experiments… and was shocked 😳⚡
Inside the case is an incredibly thick internal wire between the anode and cathode 🔥
No wonder this component survives insane current, overheating and all my crazy experiments 😂
This thing is an absolute tank.
