What does Jesus mean about taking up once cross? The answer is from yesterday's gospel. It is the decision to love God and love neighbor. When we love, we make sacrifices, we forget ourselves, and we carry others. If we do not heed this command and demand from Jesus, he says 'you are not worthy of me'. Why? Because his Kingdom is love and only loving people can get inside the kingdom. And only in following Jesus can love be perfected because He has shown us, through his cross, what love is all about. Do you dare to carry others because your Lord and Lover says so? Or you are too preoccupied with your own ego, no time to lovingly sacrifice for others?
Embrace your cross today brethren. And you will find love and life. 🙏

The secret to life, to eternal life is to love- to love God and to love our neighbor. This is the only way to have life, because when we love, we are in God and God dwells in us, because God is love. And when we are filled with love, we naturally gravitate towards making sacrifices for others. We intentionally make ourselves available, even extending what is necessary for the sake of others. We tend their wounds, we put them in an inn, and we even pay for them until they get well. Why do we do this? It does not appear to make sense. Because those who are merciful and loving, always remember, that they too have been shown overflowing mercy and grace by God. May all of us continue to do the same.
