Welcome to Nonsense Farm—where hard work meets a little bit of fun! 🌻🚜
I’m a 60-year-old Texas woman running my 13-acre farm alone, proving that grit, passion, and a touch of nonsense can turn any dream into reality.
Inspired by the Roald Dahl quote, “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men,” this farm is all about embracing the simple joys of self-sufficiency.

This week, I’m in Fiji! I still intend to go live right here on my channel at 7pm Thursday which, if I’ve calculated correctly, is noon Friday here in Fiji.
My morning before going live includes an herbal medicine walk and also a massage and facial.
Join me live right here and let’s talk about it!

You may not understand how cool this is. Let me fill you in.
For a small beekeeper like me, this is a TON of beeswax. This wax comes from the cappings we cut off the top of the stored honey in order to process it. At the end of processing honey I had a garbage bag full of sticky cappings. For most of last week I was melting batches of it in water in an old crock pot and running it through a filter to remove the debris.
Then yesterday I took all of the smaller batches and melted them together and ran them through a filter one more time.
It’s so beautiful and clean. Most of this will go back to the bees in coating frames with it so the bees can more easily draw out the frames and either have babies or store honey.
Wax is another beautiful product of the hive!

I’m up early making sourdough. I was too busy this weekend to make my normal loaves. One for work and one for home.
I recently made sourdough pasta and that video will be up soon.

Well this was incredibly frustrating tonight. I was on for our regular 7pm (Central) youtube live and YouTube simply would not cooperate. So, I'll be on next Thursday at 7pm Central and hope that the technology gremlins can be kept at bay. I hope you'll join me!
